This read like the warmest of holiday fanfics and I say that as a complete compliment.
Not sure what the point of this book was for. There was no plot and some portions read like fanfiction. I really wouldve thought this would be a chance to delve more into the Nesta issue.
3.5 Rounded to a 4.
I absolutely love this series so far, and love reading novellas as they tend to give details into other characters' lives. Maybe I just expected too much from this short book as all of the others have been jam-packed full of amazing!
I loved reading about their life after the war and appreciate the humor and display of companionship, but it just didn't seem to flow together somehow. It honestly felt more like like it was Feyre's journey towards feeling whole again with everyone making little cameos here and there.
BUT this being said I would still recommend this series!
4.5
I was a bit worried this would disappoint me that is why I put it off for a while but turns out pretty satisfying and made me more excited for the next books in the series. I dislike Nesta strongly so I don't have high expectations for it, I'm just hopeful that I would like them.
A nice sneak-peek into the lives of the characters after A Court of Wings and Ruin. Not as good as the other books, of course, but it's still nice to see how they've been doing. I can't wait for the series to continue
Hezký a oddechový díl, který dává ale nenápadně najevo co se bude dít dál...
Hezký a oddechový díl, který dává ale nenápadně najevo co se bude dít dál...
I just really hated it. Sorry not sorry.
So. This book lacks plot. The characters felt flat and ugh i just have irritations about it xd
This book does have:
- Feyre darling
- gentlemales
I know this had a lot of people divided in their opinions but I liked it! I liked it for what it was. Yes it's not essential to the series but I wanted something light, quick and festive as it's a few weeks before Christmas and that's exactly what is was. I loved being back with these characters for a short time and am looking forward to the series continuing soon.
Is write a review, but there's no point.
Nothing effing happened.
So a review would be a waste of time and unnecessary.

I felt bad having put off reading this book for months, but not anymore.
But I give it 3 stars anyways bc it's Sarah J Maas and I am trash.
A nice and light-hearted look at what happens when the Night Court crew return to Velantis. Not as good as the other books in the series, but a great bridge to things to come.
2.5/5
Lets be honest, it's not a masterpiece. There's almost no action or world-building, but it was quite a good bridge between the first three books in ACOTAR series and the ones that Maas is still writing :)
A completely delightful novella to bridge between the first three books and the next saga, reacquaint us with our favorite Court of Dreams, their wounds that have healed and those that have yet to heal. There's the obvious journey of Tamlin (hopefully towards redemption), Nesta (hopefully towards healing and reconnection), Cassian (towards unconditional love!), Elaine and Lucien ( and Az???), Mor (something tells me she's headed towards adventure and self-discovery - and maybe vengeance??) and an even brighter future for F&R.
This did not have the intensity of the first three books, but I'm not sure it was meant to. It's a bridge, and one I had a lovely time crossing.
“A Court of Frost and Starlight” is a 200-page novella written by Sarah J. Maas. This was meant to be a bridge between the first trilogy and the second trilogy, but really, it was a story on Feyre, Rhys, and their close-knit circle of friends trying to rebuild the Night Court.
I did not care for the novella, there was no action besides from sex. I gave this a 2/5 Stars.
This novella accomplishes absolutely nothing. Is this a necessary addition to the series? Nope. Literally nothing happens in this entire book. The majority of it is Feyre doing mundane everyday stuff that contributes nothing to the main plot, including repeated, separate shopping trips to buy gifts for her family and friends.
It also makes me dislike Rhysand. The things they do here pretty much undid everything that happened in the previous books. Especially the way Rhysand sees Feyre, it's like ACOMAF just went out the window. Every single time we get into his head, we see him lusting over Feyre and thinking about how much he wants to bang her. And he did bang her. In the air. Because his raging boner couldn't wait until they get home, so he decided to do it in the sky of Velaris. And Feyre just laughed it off. Just... let that sink in for a while.
Remember how Tamlin is hated because he's so controlling towards Feyre and never treats her as his equal? Well, here Rhysand does exactly the same thing. He just flies all over doing High Lord business, while Feyre does what?
Staying at home. Calling herself—I kid you not—”Defender of the Rainbow and the Desk”. Chilling on her bed when Rhysand returns, and this happens:
His Illyrian leathers gleamed with melted snow, and more of it shone on his dark hair and wings as he quietly shut the door. “Right where I left you.”I smiled, setting down the book beside me. It was nearly swallowed by the ivory down duvet. “Isn't this all I'm good for?”
freaking gloat in his face
nothing
Gentlemales
To be short and sweet- this book is a total money grab and don't tell me otherwise.
However, I am addicted to this series so I still loved it and I hate myself for it but it is what it is.
I feel like, without much plot to go on, this one really just highlights some of the real weird factors of the Fae society that Maas has put together, such as:
- if it's possible to have queer soulbonds why would a person stay in the closet for literally 500 years
- if you have extremely powerful healing magicks and shit why do these ladies still have terrible period cramps
- why does your idyllic faerie country have a wrong side of the tracks at all
- why
but there are some great fashions described and also Feyre and Rhys fuck while flying so like, I'm still on board this weird horny train

This “book” has been receiving such a huge amount of hype this year. Absolutely everyone seems to have been waiting for more from Sarah J. Maas world of Feyre and Rhysand. With 3 really strong and comprehensive novels making up the trilogy there was a huge amount of expectation about how Sarah J. Maas would extend the stories of our favorite High Fae and his mate whilst leading us into the story that will form the future of the series as we move forward.
This is a very compact novella rather than a full-blown novel, coming in at a modest 220 or so pages we have literally only delved back into the world of all our favourite characters when it is all coming to a close. And this is because throughout this series we have emotionally invested in so many characters, Azriel, Cassian, Mor, Amren, Nesta, Elain, Lucien, Tamlin.....the list goes on and on. We want to find out what happened to them all after A Court of Wings And Ruin and this novella whilst allowing us a glimpse is nowhere near comprehensive enough to answer all our lingering questions. Instead, it lifts the veil and allows us a little glimpse of where they are now and a hint as to what their futures may hold.
Based at Winter Solstice it has a festive feel as the High Fae of the Night Court come together to celebrate this special occasion and Feyre's 21st Birthday. There is lots of heat and passion still flowing between our main romantic pairing of Feyre and Rhys and it's lovely to be back with them again. Whilst this was nice it's all the unresolved stuff around them that is truly where the future is all about.
There is a definite move towards the lingering effect the events of A Court of Wings And Ruin has had upon Nesta and how her mate Cassian is coping with her detachment from her family and friends. This seems to be where we are moving towards for the next novel in this series and this novella helped me get excited about what is to come. It didn't provide any really comprehensive story within the novella to which we could see a beginning and an end but instead, it moved the chess pieces around on the board to a point where we can pick them all up again in Book 4.
I liked this little check in with my favourite series, it was nice to catch up with everyone even if it felt all too brief. It will be devoured by fans of the series I am sure and will keep us all going until Maas gets around to delivering for us another fully packed novel full of the world we have all fallen in love with.
This was a nice filler in between series. The war is over so everyone is now trying to start their life over after the aftermath. A few things pop up that will be major things later on. It's not an action packed book and I wasn't expecting it to be. SJM stated way early on that it wasn't a full book. I enjoyed seeing all the different POV's. Sort of like a preparation for the spin offs. I may have teared up a time...or two. You could probably skip this and just wait for the next series to start if you aren't a fan of novellas..but i'm a fan so why the fuck wouldn't I? Plus I enjoyed it. So a win all around for me.
3.25 stars Why did this come out it May? It would be “perfect” for winter time! Nothing really happens in this; it's a quiet little snippet of the Court of Dreams' life after the war. It's not bad, but it's a bit cheesy and the last 30 pages had me rolling my eyes and going like “ugh, why, lol, okay.”I'm pretty excited for the next one. I can't wait to read more about Nesta.
This is the third time I've cried over a Sarah J. Maas book in my physical science class. Seriously, my teacher is just used to it by now.
I honestly love how everyone is hating on this book and saying how they hate Feysand and the smut was cringy... and I'm over here with my five stars like ¯_(ツ)_/¯
(Also, Chapter 22 is the new Chapter 55. Fight me.)

I'm so conflicted about my feelings for this book right now. On one hand, it was great to meet my favorite characters again and see how they are doing after the war. But, I didn't feel so connected to them this time around.
It was cute to see some Feysand fluff, just watching them interact and make plans for their future. The whole Winter Solstice celebrations and the gift exchanging scene was heartwarming and sweet and brought some much needed smiles to both the characters and myself.
It was also interesting to see what's going inside the minds of Cassian and Mor and get to know some of their backstory, their insecurities and vulnerabilities. Elain seemed like a much more rounded character for the first time in the series. I have never liked Nesta much and this book had nothing that made me change my opinion. I'm also quite disappointed that there wasn't much of Lucien and the little he was in showed him in a not so flattering light.
All I can say at the end is - this book has some cute, funny, very sweet moments, the much awaited “Wall Scene”, some great bonding between Rhys, Cass and Az, lot of contemplation about the past and future by the characters, possible troubles brewing that might spill into the next books, but not a whole lot of plot. Nothing truly happens through the book. But it was still a small peek into the Inner Circle's lives and it really felt good.
PS: I probably need more time to think before I write a much more coherent review and not just this rambling nonsense above.
