La existencia humana es aburrida a los ojos de un gato. Nuestras “grandes” preocupaciones muchas veces no dejan de ser actitudes ridículas... A los ojos de otra especie nuestra función es misteriosa y a cada momento reflejamos sucesos extraños e impensables; todo por nuestra anti-naturalidad. Es una obra muy jugosa en ese sentido, aunque su extensión y muchas referencias exigen ponerle toda la atención y buscar cada dato referido para poder entenderla mejor según el contexto en el que fue escrita (esta edición cuenta con notas al pie, lo cual ayuda muchísimo). Sin embargo, esta obra puede ser atemporal por lo que el que quiera omitir referencias no tendría mayor problema en captar su escencia y la extención tampoco causa mayor estrés porque está impregnada de humor y una prosa suave.

La narrativa polifónica es interesante y ambiciosa, en este caso no está bien lograda. Los personajes no se desarrollan, son planos, y algunos salen sobrando. Cada capítulo regurgita al anterior haciendo que el libro sea muy repetitivo. Además, menciona más veces de las necesarias que la víctima fue quemada y descuartizada, subestimando al lector.
Creo que engancha más por los temas “controversiales” que por la historia en si.

No me la esperaba, muy buena novela. Te atrapa y te transporta a otra época, la del antiguo Linares y el viejo Monterrey, te deja echar un vistazo a lo que fue y cómo se transformó, que no fue sencillo para nadie pero que formó el carácter y lo que distingue a esta región.
