Another good one.
All her books are great. Good plots and entertaining characters. Nice when Agatha Troy is in the story as well.
Quick , thoughtful read
If you're trying to “be” versus just “do” this is a helpful book. Not preachy or overly simplified, like many. The stories are all real and sound like it and the tone is sincere; the pace flows. Your intelligence won't be insulted and you'll finish reading with practical inspiration to take into the day. Three stars only because this isn't my standard genre.
Good read
Brief but helpful history of tea's migration from China to India. Liked the historical details and her reference to sources.
Solid British mystery
Good book. Not Golden Age but appealing if you like British mysteries. You can see what's coming, yet still worthwhile.
Classic but ...
Read for book club; entertaining and intriguing to a degree, but not that enjoyable. Wolf Larsen is a fantastic character.
Another good one
If you like quirky and mysteries, you'll like this series. Plus I always learn some London history in each book.
excellent again
If you love the PCU you'll love this. Another great one that advances the relationships and tells a great story.
Interesting but didn't quite go into the detail I wanted, while providing too much in other areas. Would still recommend as worthwhile for those interested in how things came to be.
If you love France, this is for you. It will bring back memories, make you want to visit again, and most of all motivate you to enjoy each moment. We definitely tend to rush and worry, which defeats the joie de vivre that we could experience instead. More than a travel or how to book, this is about meaning in moments (and multiple aspects of French culture, from food to art to history to Francis Cabrel!)
Lyrical writing, once again. I got so attached to the Duchess I had to slow down the reading.
Pulls you in slowly. You can guess what will happen but you still want to see it unfold. Marcellus' voice is charming!
Well worth reading. I was expecting more research into the Indian caste system, more of a true comparison. This was using the Nazi system and Indian system to help us understand racism here in the U.S. Helpful for people who still don't see it.
Read it for the stories, the language, the laughter. Just read it! Fun and insightful.
History and mystery
Love the entire series. This one has an intriguing history of London's lost rivers as well. Well integrated as usual.
