Fabulous! Her writing is magical and the story draws you in, even if you don't know much about Shakespeare.
Mostly fantastic but was disappointed he seems to believe the ‘fat is bad for you' outdated advice. Otherwise entertaining as usual.
Started strong with data, research and stories but got weaker toward the end, as in, stating without proving. That said, is a gentle first step for those trying to learn more about racism. Also helpful in showing white defensive reactions.
Loved the format of multiple stories separated by time; not sure how I feel about the characters, which is a good thing. Intriguing, definitely.
Excellent. Very helpful way to look at numbers and data, and very useful insights. Easy read, too.
If you want specifics as to how we got to where we are, post slavery, read this. Very fact-based and at the same time paints a vivid picture of the effect of housing and school restrictions.
Well worth reading if you're interested in the time period, politics or personalities.
Long but completely worth it. Very helpful in developing or applying critical thinking to ‘facts.'
I didn't read all of it; some parts were too detailed about food. The cultural history of places like Howard Johnson were the most interesting.
Good story
Good story, appealing characters. Made me want to read the Rebecca West book and learn more about the history of the whole area.
