This story was short and cute. I binge read it just now, probably should have slept but I spent the last 6ish hours reading this. The characters may not have been the most likable at times, but the way they grew towards the end made the story so rewarding.
This might genuinely be the most predictable book I read, which isn't terrible, but it's VERY tropey. I saw every “twist” from a mile away and while I somewhat enjoyed the book, I don't know if I'd go out of my way to recommend it to someone. It's an okay book. that's all. The story is somewhat cute but for all the hype it got, it didn't live up to my expectations.
The book was okay. I understand why the MC acted the way he did but he was still kind of annoying. I was hoping he wouldn't be paired off with the only other gay character in the book too but unfortunately, we don't always get what we want. There's also A LOT of homophobia in this book which again, I understand why and it's important for stories to have that but I wasn't prepared for the sheer amount of it. Not my favorite book by far but it had some cute moments and I teared up a bit.
I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review.
Adorable! That's not necessarily what you would associate a vampire book with, but here we are. Aaron is such a golden retriever and I adore him and I need more male leads like him.
Going in I didn't realize this book was just part one, which is kind of important because this sets up A Lot. Especially the last couple chapters. Knowing that makes the pacing make a lot more sense though. Overall this was a very cute book and I look forward to the next one! This goes past just romance and has a very interesting story dealing with old power that I can't wait to see the progression of. I don't wanna say too much because spoilers but I do highly recommend this book and my only real complaint was that there was a fair amount of spelling errors. I'm gonna assume that's because it's an ARC though.
The brotherly interactions are so wholesome and you truly love all the brothers and Kimberly is such a badass. Combine all that with Aaron being the most amazing golden retriever gamer boy you could ask for, and this book has an amazing cast of characters you just adore.

Ali's books read like fanfic, which isn't a bad thing! I spent WAYYYY too long on AO3 and so the fanfiction style writing is nothing off-putting to me. Hell, I even have a novel idea based off what was originally a fanfic idea. It's useful! But I'm going into this under the assumption it's thinly veiled Reylo fanfic (this was never actually posted as fanfic but inspiration dies hard) and maybe that's why I enjoy it much more than a lot of the other reviews? The general consensus is that it's too much like TLH, but when you read fanfic that's kinda the whole schtick. I thought the characters were fun and I love tropes and cliches. Don't go into this expecting a piece of literary genius and you'll probably enjoy this. I will say the whole large p*nis thing was a bit much as a lot of people know bigger isn't better, but beyond that the sex scenes were good!
The cliffhanger is as bad as everyone says!!!
This book is fantastic. It got me out of my reading slump. It has the magic and ease of a classic YA fantasy novel but the characters are actually adults and we get sex! This book is easily one of my all time faves and I regret taking so long to read it and not buying the sprayed edges version. If you're on the fence, just do it.
For reference I loved PJO and despise ACOTAR to the point I DNF'd and this book is nothing like ACOTAR. People only compare them because they're fantasy. Take the plunge, it's worth it.
I don't write reviews for a lot of the books I read but I feel like I should here. For starters, I've read one other book by Beth, The Flatshare. I DNF'd that one. I got 70% and just couldn't handle it anymore, and this book almost got a DNF too.
After finishing the book I am glad I did, but the flashbacks and flashforwards ended up being extremely aggravating and at some times confusing. Not only do we have POV switches but we have time switches which can be a lot for you to wrap your mind around at times especially when you come back to the book after having to do something. I loved getting the past and the present don't get me wrong, but I REALLY wished it would have just been mostly the past with a few bits left out and then cutting to the present and you find out the big things at the same time as you currently do. Oh well.
This is a good story, I like the way the characters all grew and it ended up being a good read and a semi releastic look on relationships. Some points of this felt like a chore to get through but then the last 20% I breezed through. All in all it could have been much worse.
Took me over a month but I did it!!! Kuang has very dense books and this book is phenomenal but holy shit. The ending could have been more satisfying but also, I get why we got what we did. I also wish that Robin took his Chinese name back at the end but it is what it is.
What a disappointing end to the series. The books decreased in quality as they went on and this book was genuinely rage inducing. I finished it because I'd already come this far but I would not recommend reading past the first book.
this book has NO right being this good. I went into this expecting some cheesy enemy to lovers, and to an extent it is, but something about the characters and their interactions make it go above and beyond. If you're looking for a short 6/7 hr read, I highly recommend this!
The story is cute and it's interesting to see the cultural aspects in play. It felt a bit long at times but I finished it in 2 days so apparently it wasn't that long. Also the POV changes are really easy to gloss over if you're like me and don't read chapter titles so it can be a paragraph or so of confusion lol
This book was okay. It was a cute, fluff piece. It was about a 5 hour read. My only issue is it's incredibly cliche and almost reads like the author's highschool fantasy, but maybe that's the cynic in me.
I wanted to enjoy this but signing up for 3 books of Kuang's dense, academic writing is a lot. I got so far and I dread the thought of picking it back up. this book is very “everything is awful” and unfortunately I just don't want to dedicate my headspace to that. what I read was interesting, but not enough to go back unfortunately.
cute, queer, silly. not mind boggling and life changing, but goddamn is it a breath of fresh air.
My main complaint is how abrupt the ending was! This is a very sweet, albeit very predictable book.
This is the second book I accidentally read by this author - and loved. So uh, I guess I'm reading Atlas Six next??
The ending has me stunned. This book is amazing much like the first. Rebecca definitely isn't the author for everyone but she's the perfect author for me. The way she builds the world and the relationships between all of the characters just satisfies me. I love this series so much so far. This is wonderful. I don't have a reaction suitable for the ending so I won't even try.
All I'll say is I'm glad Xaden has consistently let Violet be in charge of her life, unlike Dain. It's a small thing but not treating her like a damsel in distress makes the book feel so much more real.
