I DEVOURED this book in one day. The first few chapters might feel a bit slow and boring, but once you push through, it gets incredibly gripping. The author's skillful manipulation of the story completely transformed my perspective on the book. This will definitely be one of my top recommendations. Fairly, It took me a while for the plot to sink in because I couldn't think straight!! Such a good book. It's a must read!!
“Enemies-to-Lovers—it's our trope, Buxbaum”
5 stars.
I did not expect this book to be soo good!! Ugh my biggest regret is that I hadn't read this sooner. I actually bawled out and squealed over Wes' confessions coz WHAT?? I just got a new fictional bf to obsess over. WES BENNETT EVERYONE. I swear- I will recommend this book to anyone who passes by me.
It's so relatable with the texting and tryna understand your feelings and THE SONGS AND ROM-COMS??? JUST AMAZING. Liz may be weird but it's the sweetest thing how Wes loves her for who she is and IT'S SO CUTEEEE how he actually gets concerned over her if she cries and the fact that he HATES TO BE THE REASON SHE CRIES?? Gosh I love Wes Bennett, unfortunately we won't find a guy like that in this generation
No :( I'm sorry this is the worst thriller I've read. The Inmate is better. No hate to Alice Feeney. She's written great books that I've had 5-stars for.
I LOVEEE CHILDHOOD FRIENDS TO LOVERS. It's my top trope after Academic Rivals to Lovers. All I have to say is that I love Sloane and Jasper AND THE WAY HE WAS SECRETLY IN LOVE WITH HER- I JUST CANT-
Why were my fav parts seeing Dante and Vivian? LMAOO. Okay so Kai is great, amazing! Loved it, but it wasn't as unique as the first book.
Kai is a billionaire under a moment of being the CEO through votes, so if his relationship with Isabella, a bartender, were to be exposed, it would cause a scandal and ruin his moment, what's nice is that Isabella is aspiring to be a writer :>
It just didn't make sense? So the brother's best friend is this dark and gloomy dude and shows emotions once and apparently it's a big thing since he's emotionless? and so the girl and her gang just decide to do things that'll trigger him? to make him sad, happy etc.. The love portrayed was sweet, but the plot twist was just a meh to me. I expected better. The hype is unmatched. Was this the right book they were talking about? coz Nahhh
Spoilers Ahead!
I was really disappointed by the end of this book. So you reveal the killer from the start, then deceive us and change it back?
We learn the plot twist right at the middle of the book, this would usually disappointing but WHO ARE WE KIDDING? THIS IS A FRIEDA MCFADDEN BOOK YALL- If anyone is looking for a huge plot twist kinda thriller book, this could be it if you haven't read a lotta thriller, BUT if you have, this book will still satisfy you BECAUSE OF THE MESSED UP STORY BEHIND THE PLOT TWIST
Okay so it didn't have a huge plot except for father in this story, but I'd say romance girlies would enjoy this either way, especially with how crew treats wren, BUT DUDE THE LOLLIPOP SCENE- NO-
I CANNOT ACCEPT AN ENDING THAT MAKES MY HEART WRENCH THIS BAD- THIS IS SUCH A GOOD SERIES- I CANT-
I actually enjoyed this book. I was too scared to read this in the dark (which btw I READ A LOT OF BOOKS IN THE DARK WITH A NIGHT LIGHT) so I didn't enjoy all the romance in this book but the shock that verity gave me made me all like ‘IS THIS WOMAN A MOTHER OR WHAT' this book was such an amazing read.
The story of this book was actually quite sad. To this day I think about it and WISH it had ended differently
This book was AMAZING. I read it in one night and then left my room because I COULDN'T THINK STRAIGHT AT ALL- OR MAYBE IT WAS COZ I WAS SLEEP DEPRIVED LMAOO- but in all seriousness- the book was actually good and I'd say you're missing out if you didn't read it
I read this book right after my exams and DID NOT expect it to be this good. Picking up this book with low expectations, as the ones I read before it weren't all that impressive, I was SHOCKED. This novel had me screaming with excitement.
Based on the summary, I anticipated finding a body at the start of the book, but the way the story unfolds through multiple points of view, leading us straight to the secrets of one individual, is masterful. At that moment, you just CAN'T put the book down! The last few chapters kept me on the edge of my seat, super curious about how it would all play out.
This is one of the books I'd highly recommend to anyone seeking a thrilling read. The plot twist and the author's adept storytelling make this a standout in the genre.
