Superbly done! Eating disorders are a difficult topic, I experienced moments of outrage reading this. At the end it was just tears...
Graphic novel of one of my favorite short stories by Joe Hill! The lengths to which Honeysuckle Speck goes to show her love for her recently deceased girlfriend, her family, and her newly found friends is admirable. I really enjoyed this.
Thank you, Thomas and Mercer and @Netgalley for my advanced readers copy of I Remember You!
I need to start out by stating that the copy I read was an uncorrected proof and I haven't a clue how close to the final product it will be.
That out of the way, this was an average read for me. Not my favorite by far by Brian Freeman but it was a solid ride from beginning to end. I Remember You, is a story about two women Hallie, and Skye, whose paths never crossed, and who grew up on opposite sides of the US. Both women have experienced trauma, and their minds have blocked out portions of the past to protect them from the truth. When their paths cross and Hallie wakes up in a hospital bed with Skye's memories mixed with her own she goes on a torrid quest to unlock Skye's memories.
There was a predictability to the story, but also many surprises along the way. By the time you reach the end, you are ready and cheering for the climax, you are praying that Hallie makes it through and just waiting for that HEA. Does she get one?? You gotta read to find out.
IT'S PUBLICATION DAY!!!!
I love Blake Crouch's writing and am so grateful to have received an advanced reader's copy of Upgrade from @Netgalley and Random House Publishing!
Upgrade is right on par with what you'd expect from Crouch. It's fast-paced, propelling, and intense. His lead character is thoroughly developed and endearing. Like several of Crouch's main characters, Logan is a family man, deeply involved in his family life, he loves his wife and adores his daughter. His past until the accidental death of his mother is rife with self-doubt and expectations he can't reach, all he has ever wanted is to be a light to her instead of a shadow. Several events unfold which propel the story quickly. Government conspiracies, DNA editing, military involvement, not to mention the impending end of the world threat. What's not to love. Crouch's writing style is abrupt and fast-paced, but still, he has the ability to flesh out characters and events in a way that makes you hold your breath to the very last page.
I would highly recommend Crouch to anyone who loves science fiction, especially sci-fi based on legitimate sciences... in some cases, he reminds me more of a theoretical physicist than a fiction author with the way he sees the future. Man, I'm rambling, anyway, pick this up and read it. Or any of his other books. I promise you won't regret it.
LOVED! This was so unsettling, absolutely Un. Nerv. ING! The creepy rollout was such a huge blast, I've never read anything like it. Waiting with bated breath for the sequel, please god let there be a sequel...
Right on par with some of my fave horror mangas (with less gore and more mystery). This was so so good! I enjoyed so much riding beside these characters and trying to find out what the heck is going on! And the art style is so fresh, loved it!
It's not the book really, it's me?? I don't know what I was expecting going in but it definitely makes me question my decision to read it.
Doing His Best was adorable, I love a good romantic comedy and this didn't disappoint! I look forward to more installments!
That was an interesting short story. Amusing, if not a little predictable. Worth supporting the ACLU to read it.
I enjoyed this fast paced energetic read so so much!! White is capable of creating such depth in her story and scenery while maintaining and expanding the empathy you feel for the characters. It was a crazy ride. I'm def gonna check out more of her books.
I should have liked this more than I do. I'm not sold on the layout, the primary story heard through a podcast, emails, and Violet's sister. I'm not satisfied with the closing, questions unanswered, or the way Sasha (Violet's Sister) finally gets closure.
This book had me in its grip in the beginning but as things progressed I found a lot of it redundant and convenient.
Idk. Maybe it's just me.
2.5
Didn't feel that this was plausible, plot was predictable, unnecessarily gruesome in parts, just fell flat and unfeeling for me.
What an absolutely adorable read! Savannah and William's life is full of complications, expectations, and reality checks. Savannah wants nothing more than to become an accomplished romance author, she wants her story out there for the masses. She wants to show women everywhere they are treasured for who they are faults and all. William on the other hand is trying to save his mother's business. As a former editor to a posh New York company, he's returned home to help breathe life back into Pennington Publishing. Trying to right the wrongs, keep the business and its employees together. This isn't stressful enough for these two, enter Fergus - Savannah's ex and future brother-in-law, a mystery editor, a budding friendship, and that god-awful thing known as misunderstandings and you have yourself a truly enchanting story. I loved this meet-cute, from the very beginning. From the moment William meets Savannah, I am rooting for them, and as their budding relationship grows into something, you are blessed with their growth, as individuals, and as a pair. Really loved it, and know you will too.
Thank you @NetGalley and Thomas Nelson for the opportunity to read the advanced copy!

Not my favorite SSJ but a good read anyway. The story was too disjointed, or maybe too disconnected is a better word, for me. I could be over exaggerating things, but the spooky bits for once seemed unnecessary and even separate to the mystery. IMHO
Not what i thought
Great if you love enemies to loves, bad if you have a thing against reading high school romances... My own damn fault.
Another great read from Katee Robert! I loved this more than the previous, and am always surprised when they come to an end. I want more.
I will read N. E. THANG. this woman writes lol! She is funny and capable of making a subject like women's obsession with true crime, our ability to mistrust our instincts, bias in the media, and a woman's near-endless capacity for empathy, and turn it into a funny and dare I say ‘light' read. HFC is funny, down-to-earth, open, and honest. She breaks down these short stories of True Crime in a way that is compelling and interesting, and in turn funny. I will pledge to read not only anything she writes/illustrates but also anything she recommends and there are tons of recommendations in this book, books, podcasts, tv shows, movies, and so much stuff. I'm over here dancing in my seat in anticipation because she rec'd things I have yet to read!!
