2.5 This book gave me whiplash... Had a difficult time following the plot the way the story was structured. Also did not approve of the characters forwardness after he'd been told no. Love to those bunnies though.
Great read! Yrsa is such a poetess, and a fabulous story-teller. There wasn't a moment in this book that I didn't feel for her. She was honest and poignant, and didn't hide the darkness. I appreciate the chance to have read this one. Thanks Patty!
3.5⭐
Sweet and Spicy, Spicy, Spicy!!
Georgie and Travis were so adorable, I loved how they worked together to overcome their confidence issues. They really were a team and the whole story just came together so nicely.
This book made me realize 3 things... 1.) Time travel is possible ;)! 2.) It has been a seriously long time since I've been bowling, and 3.) I miss my damn typewriter!!!
Worthy read, pick it up.
I predict this will be the best YA book I read this year! Intensely satisfying, the best fairy tale based book I've read in ages. I eagerly await Tales of the Hinterlands!!
Very cool read. Tons of information laid out in a meaningful and straightforward way.
Ok so, yea, I read this. Did I enjoy it? Not particularly. I can't blame the read on this one though.
Hope. Hope was an intrinsic theme in this read, that should have inspired a fire in my belly, but I really just couldn't get into it. It was almost an unfinished but I wanted so badly to be proven wrong that I trucked my way through it.
If you like mystery, suspense, and a lil Christian romance, go ahead and give this a try, it might just successfully stir in you what it failed to in me.
^.^
Light, easy holiday read, with a super adorable pup you just want to adopt! Also has recipes! Love a good book with recipes!
A fun fast paced thriller that stays with you long after it is over. I LOVED this book. I'm so sad I have to wait another year for the next Frost Easton book. Seriously, what is the world coming to!?
There is so much heart encased in this little book, I found myself constantly cheering, worried, and exhilarated for Xio's journey.
A 3.5 🌟 rolled up to 4. I'm very torn with this read! I enjoyed it thoroughly but the events both to characters I've grown to love and events have left me feeling kind of deflated. There is such a human characteristic at play that the twists in this story though understood left me feeling disparate.
I received an ARC of The End of Her by Shari Lapena from @NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
The End of Her was overall a disappointment for me. Unfortunately, we just didn't jive. I found the book hard to follow with the overwhelming amount of characters, and the writing style to me seemed 3rd person. When Phillip did this, or Hannah was thinking... You get the drift, I found it difficult to keep histories and characters straight, and was often lost when I had to break and return to the book at a later time. This did get easier as the book went on, which could have been a result of the time I spent consecutively reading it or because I was becoming more and more familiar with the character's personalities. The story that lies within is completely insane. I found myself asking how probable something like this was. Do people and entanglements like this really exist?
Overall, my dislike for this book was based on personal struggle. If you decide to give it a shot, I do hope you enter into the commitment with some patience.
This was a great little snipet/prequel to Spindle, really looking forward to continuing this series.
A Scooby Doo-esque caper written for adult fiction that couldn't have been done better. This campy horror story was tons of fun with twists and unexpected turns. I am so eager to read more by Mr. Cantero!
Slow starter. Found it difficult to get into, there were moments I thought the author was trying to hard. Too disconnected, too gruesome, but it rolled out nicely, and by the end was definitely worth it. Will read book 2.
I'm back and forth on this one. I love a good tale where the paranormal activity is real, but this one debunked it all on its own and then left it wide open for something altogether different.. I just dunno.
This book has a great mystery, well conceived and delivered with a thoughtful hand. I fell hard for these bookish characters in a way I hadn't in a long time. They were quirky and clever, and you were with the 100% throughout the story. So why the 3 star review?... Well, I had the hardest time trying to get into this one, the way the author slips from present to past was often hard to follow, and honestly I considered giving up on it multiple times...but then, Joey's letters appeared, and dammit I was hooked. Thankful I finished it. Hope the rest of you enjoy it.
I both read and listened to this book, and by far listening to NDGT talking astrophysics was best! highly recommend either way for the curious..
I really enjoy the Ruth Galloway series. There is the occasional bought of annoyance when she obsesses over Nelson or her weight a bit too frequently...and this one did have Tatjana to keep her in line which I felt was really important to this story...but still with all that it promised I don't feel like this one delivered that punch at the end. It all happened so quickly..
