My first Nicole Trope book, won't be my last.
Devoured this in just over a day, didn't want to put it down.
Lydia experiences every parent's worst nightmare: her 16 year old daughter Zoe goes on a school camp and never comes home.
The story is told from varying point of views: Lydia, the mother, Jessie, Zoe's sister, Bernadette, the teacher in charge, Shayna, Zoe's best friend, and the villain (with a few extra POVs thrown in when we need them.)
Watching this story unfold makes for a compulsive page-turner!
ARCs are available for request on NetGalley.

Another Rachael Johns novel that I devoured in just over a day.
Ashling is blindsided when her husband Adrian wants them to separate and try nest parenting.
She wants the best for her children and agrees, but it's the last thing she wants.
I loved seeing Ash grow into herself and embrace her unexpected independence.
And Dan is the perfect man to help her do it!
Loved her friendships in Ragged Point and how much she becomes a part of the small coastal town.
A thoroughly enjoyable read!
Wow. Loved this!
Stayed up until 1am to finish, devoured in a day.
I can pick plot twists early in books (the joys of being a writer!) and this is the first book in a LONG time that totally surprised me. I did NOT see the twist coming!
Allison is a caring kindergarten teacher who takes new girl Gracie under her wing.
Focussing on helping Gracie get to the US for life-saving treatment helps Allison take her mind off her own problems, namely a marriage breakdown that came out of the blue.
As the plot unfolds, you'll be turning pages at a rapid rate!
Loved this.
Such a tender, poignant read.
Elsie, Bree and Olive are best friends who run Healing Hands, a wellness centre.
Each of them have problems to bear and seeing how their lives unfold makes for a page-turner.
Thoroughly enjoyed!
What a wonderful story!
My first book from Stella Quinn, won't be my last.
The Vet from Snowy River is rural romance with depth, heart and unforgettable characters.
Vera is a prickly cafe owner caring for Jill, her aunt with dementia, and running from her past, including a court date/trial courtesy of her sleaze bag ex.
Josh is the utterly charming small town vet who is a heart-melter.
I loved that their road to romance was rocky and fraught with obstacles.
And the secondary characters in this lovely story almost steal the show. Graeme the barista, Marigold, Kev, and Poppy, Josh's 15 year old daughter, are a wonderful addition to this layered story.
(And I hope we get Hannah and Tom's story soon!)
This book was truly a delightful surprise for me and I devoured it quickly.
Colleen Hoover writes guaranteed page turners!
This story is so much darker and twisted than many of hers I've read and still makes for compulsive reading.
Trigger warning: it's filled with psychological, emotional and physical abuse, leaving the reader rooting for Sloan.
Sloan is living with Asa, a drug dealer. Carter is the undercover cop she falls for.
The story ended at around 75%, so imagine my surprise when there was a long epilogue revealing what happened next!
One of those stories you'll find hard to put down.
A sweet read featuring a circus in the small town of Nyringa in rural New South Wales.
Two strong-willed matriarchs, Aunt Alice and Lucien (circus owner) go head to head.
Enjoyed the teen romance too between Finn and Jenny, so cute.
I've spent a lot of time over the last year trying to get a handle on Amazon ads via courses, resources, etc...reading this book really opened my eyes to how wrong I've been doing things.
After 18 years in the industry, 77 books published, I'm looking forward to implementing these tips.
I'll need to re-read first to absorb it all. So good.
My first ‘how to' writing reference by Rayne Hall (she's written many!) and it was excellent.
A concise insight into gothic fiction, with plenty of examples and assignments to get your writerly brain ticking over.
I love how Nicole Trope takes everyday situations and turns them into dark and menacing.
Katherine and her twins are trapped inside their own house by a madman for an entire day in steamy Sydney. It doesn't end well.
I only picked the twist early because I write in this genre and I think my mind is trained that way. Didn't diminish my enjoyment one bit.
Trigger warning
Domestic violence
I bought this one on the blurb alone and it was a page-turner.
I really wanted to see how it played out.
So imagine my surprise when it ended abruptly on a cliffhanger!
This one had a paranormal edge to it that turned out to be cult based.
Will keep you wondering.
Loved the premise of this, 2 backpackers found roadside after a traumatic accident, telling very different stories.
Watching the plot unfold from Hayley and Gemma's POVs was interesting, as each little twist is revealed.
An entertaining story.
Liked the premise of this one as a retelling of Jane Eyre.
Even though I knew what was coming and could pick the plot twists, I enjoyed it for its compulsive page-turning quality.
I've read most of Sally's books and this one is unlike any of the others.
It's riveting to watch the relationship between Fern and Rose develop.
Fern has sensory processing issues and Rose ensures she's dependent on her.
As the twists unravel towards the end, you won't want to put this one down!
This book will immerse you in Aussie country life, with a vast range of characters to make you smile.
Joey is a wonderful hero.
Took Kirsty a while to realise it.
Clarence sounds like a fun place to live!
Historical mystery isn't a genre I usually read but I'm thoroughly enjoying the Harriet Gordon series, set in Singapore in the early 1900s.
She's a strong-willed heroine who gets the job done alongside an interesting cast of characters.
And I love the atmospheric Singapore of old.
It's guaranteed that a Kylie Scott romance hero will make you drool and this book is no exception.
Garrett is a grieving rockstar who moves to a small town to escape his demons.
His neighbour, Ani, is a recluse for her own reasons.
I loved the push-pull dynamic between these two anti-romantics.
And when they get together...steamy!
A quick, enjoyable read.
And please, Smith's story next. Loved him too!
Couldn't put this down.
A raw, unflinching, contemporary YA about a group of 18 year old school leavers who head off for a week of fun, only to discover being stuck on an island together brings emotions and conflicts to the surface in a devastating way.
It's a quintessentially Aussie novel and the author's voice shines through on every page.
Highly recommend.
Loved the friendship between Hannah and Fox unfolding into so much more.
Another wonderful escapism read.
Loved the voice of Molly, the neuro diverse maid.
The story is a slow burn but I kept turning pages because of her voice.
Two unexpected twists at the end!
If you're a fan of my domestic suspense novels, you'll love this gothic suspense!
It's dark, twisted, and creepy.
Goosebumps guaranteed!
