See allBrilliantly written book, with some vibrant and varying characters. A good one to take on as a singular story (I don't like the follow up, and gave up halfway through the second).
After the setup of the first book, we begin to see more action in this sequel. We see more of the typical Brandon Sanderson plot structure take shape, and go beyond just world-building and introducing charatcers.
The characters are starting to take shape, and I found myself liking Kenton much more than in the first book.
It looks to be gearing up for an excellent story in future issues. The downside the book is that the comic release format makes it a bit disjointed to read, since you have to pause mid-story and wait for the next issue.
It is definitely worthwhile to pick up if you read the first and are wondering if it's worth it -although it will leave you wanting to read more. I will certainly be picking up future issues when they are released
Absolutely brilliant book! Love the premise - as someone who was tempted by the FI/RE movement previously, and have been trying to rebalance my thoughts on money, this really spoke to me.
I was so happy to discover it's not a book pushing the extreme version of the idea, but instead about changing how you view retirement, and inheritance. It's more about when your money should be spent, rather than how much.
Thanks for the amazing book, Bill!
Amazing book, just what I've been looking for! Provides great advice, with studies and life stories to back it up.
A very disappointing book. If you're looking for a book on Blackbeard, or piracy, this is not it. If you are looking for a good romance novel, this is not it. The book barely has two mentions of the existence of piracy. It is more about developing the awkward, unromantic relationship of the two main characters. Would not recommend.
