A roadmap on building a global culture in the age of acceleration - insights on migration & inclusion were particularly eye-opening
Świetny kryminał i bardzo wciągająca seria. Jedna z lepszych książek tego gatunku, jaką czytałem. Uwaga, trup ściele się gęsto
I don't buy it. I had an audio version. I had the impression that it was the same stuff as in “The Power of Now”.
A one-of-kind type of book. Written from perspective, with honesty, helps to strengthen such perspective in one's own life - to accept, to appreciate and admire.
I liked the book. But I do prefer when Stephen King doesn't do too much fantasy (I'm talking about the genre).
It reminds me of the “Dark Tower” series.
I decided to give two stars as the book seemed OK in the beginning. However, I had the impression that there was little value in reading further. The interesting got lost somewhere on the way...
An intimate journey with a couple of mixed origin. A means to think over the difficulties a modern couple has to face throughout their lives. A reflection on what it means to be a good wife or husband, or partner, and a way to survive with all our imperfections, without being alone with someone on the other side of the bed. There a gems here, thoughts that will make you want to re-read this particular book, paragraphs you might feel tempted to save just in case...
Incredible, breathtaking. My second (third) Bryce Courtenay novel and again... bullseye! I recommend the Audible.com version narrated by Humphrey Bower. The author and the narrator compliment each other very well.
This is a very broad view on modern relationship complexities, in particular those resulting in “betrayal.” But is it indeed a sign of disloyalty? The author takes a deep dive into many different types of romances, different reasons - both from the perspective of the partner straying or the one being betrayed, then again - from the perspective of the pair itself. The known therapist proposes a new approach to relationships for the XXI century, some would even say - a revolution as to how we define marriage and what it entails.
I stopped reading when my perception of Mr. Poiter as a role model was destroyed. Altogether it's a good read and an inspiring book. Mr. Poiter is a remarkable storyteller / writer. One of the best I'd come across. A true inspiration in that regard. However, I would call the book “a biography”, definitely–not a spiritual one.
Too many shifts in the plot, too many characters. I didn't get hooked and after several attempts - ditched the book.
If things like habit-stacking, environmental aspects related to building habits (or getting rid of some others) or the compounding effect of repetition don't sound familiar, it might be worth giving the book a try. Plus, it's short.
Personally I wasn't moved by the first 100 or so pages, but then the real fun started. There are gems one can find here - insights, ideas, habits worth considering. I find this to be a very valuable read and definitely one that I will return to.
Perhaps a whole book might be too much, but I find this system to be among the best. Especially useful for you MS Outlook users out there, but not only.
Heartily recommended, especially for those involved in project management. Plenty of practical insight which provides valuable perspective for the aspiring Alphas.
A great read! Fast-paced, entertaining and informative. Interesting characters. A pity the author died before his series became a bestseller.
Beauty of a book
Interesting story, exotic setting, convincing characters, and great climax. I enjoyed the book all the way through - heartily recommended
