Wspaniała przygoda dla czytelnika - wielobarwne, ciekawe postacie wrzucone w kontekst burzliwej historii. Trochę jak John Irving, ale nasz, rodzimy, a jego pióro... czyta przyjemność dla odbiorcy.
Wasn't sure about it at first, but I'm glad I did read the book finally. Makes one think and I guess... helps reordering priorities. Overall, a beautiful, touching read.
Najtrudniejsze świadectwo z jakim miałem do czynienia. Jedno z pierwszych, wykorzystywanych jeszcze w procesach norymberskich.
This manual is concise, informative, and well-designed. I have been using Evernote for quite a while, so I wasn't satisfied with the tips & tricks, real-life examples. But overall it's a neat starting point.
The beginning was quite interesting. As a matter of fact, I believe it is very useful to evaluate one's character according to the B-M scale. However, the elaborations in 2nd part of the book discouraged me from completing the book (actually, it was closer to the middle).
A short & sweet book. Encouraging. It left me wanting for more regarding techniques, creative ideas (e.g. composition, condition-related). There were a few, but I felt the author had a lot more to propose (perhaps in his next book). Still, it's available for free and carries lots of value. Respect!
I have a feeling that M. Elsberg's book was written as an educational tool rather than for entertainment. There were moments where I found it difficult to grasp the logic (i.e. it wasn't convincing enough for me) and as the plot became denser, quicker at times... I got lost once or twice. All in all it is an interesting read.
A very picturesque journey, with interesting characters, and a rather annoying protagonist. I loved the atmosphere, the fairy-tale touch, dialogues, even though some of the events & characters' decisions didn't seem entirely logical to me ;) Still a very good read. One of the best lately.
It's difficult to “judge” a reference book like the PMBOK. A body of knowledge it is, after all. Reads like a dictionary, but it's still good to have it at your side. Perhaps real-life examples, even from a more general perspective (after all, the PMBOK is not a methodology) would make it a better read in future editions.
If you attempt to obtain one of PMI's certificates, I seriously recommend to read the PMBOK - once, twice or more. It's good to “feel” the book and know where to search, when needed.
Not too excited
I'm afraid the author lost me along the way. Many characters, little action. I didn't find emerged in the world as such. The book was also difficult to grasp for a non-native English reader as there are neologisms on almost every page, sometimes with little or no explanation
Important
Food for thought. Very important such events are being stored and a testimony remains. I'm saddened by the way my fellow-countrymen (Poles) were portrayed in this book. Was negative attitude towards Jews something general? I heard otherwise before. Read too. Obviously, there were black sheep, toxic communities, but numbers speak for themselves - similar amounts on our side perished (https://bit.ly/2JYi7BT). But it's not my intention to compare tragedies. I wish all of this didn't happen. And I'm glad I read this book.
Quite a journey
This book is about coming to terms with our humanity, about helping, about the importance of books in our everyday life. I approached it several times, each time taking something for myself, but not having the strength to read it cover to cover, as if I afraid of what was around the corner of the next page. This time I succeeded completing it. And will probably return, certainly to the books that were chosen by the End of Your Life Book Club.
A very good book - for runners and non-runners alike. It's like a fast-paced novel, with skillfully added facts and details on anthropology, anatomy, biology and... shoes. Inspiring and in some cases–life-changing. Definitely recommended!
Practical advice, good reminders. I liked the first part of the book slightly more, feeling there wasn't enough essence to justify a full book. But I'll certainly store some of the author's guidelines for future reference.
Amazing how one might damage his body without consequences (and sad, in a way). Interesting to see how running can change a person.
Another useful tool for passing ITIL V3 Foundation. Doing several tests helps in the preparation. I decided to give this book a try after using Christofer Scordo's Prep Questions for passing the PMP exam. Very helpful and definitely recommended!
A very concise, down-to-earth material for putting Agile processes, roles (and the like) into practice. A tad dry at times, but clear and useful. I hope the document will shrink rather than expand.
This book greatly helped me pass my ITIL V3 Foundation exam. It's a course in a book, indeed. The only topic I found missing was the Service-V model from Service Transition. Still, if you are preparing for the Foundation exam, this book will do well. Sample tests are advisable though.
A nice intro to Kanban w/ good ideas on using the method to improve personal productivity.
Interesting read. Puts things in perspective nicely. And Brian Cox's sense of humour if very appealing
Only life writes stories like these...
I rarely give 5-star ratings. This story deserves one. It's a gem. For Polish readers out there - it should be out in June 2018, so consider giving it a try.
And here's a passage that still resonates in me:
“After several moments of quiet, Pino said, “You know, my young friend, I will be ninety years old next year, and life is still a constant surprise to me. We never know what will happen next, what we will see, and what important person will come into our life, or what important person we will lose. Life is change, constant change, and unless we are lucky enough to find comedy in it, change is nearly always a drama, if not a tragedy. But after everything, and even when the skies turn scarlet and threatening, I still believe that if we are lucky enough to be alive, we must give thanks for the miracle of every moment of every day, no matter how flawed...””
