I decided to read Brother Odd since I liked the first two from the series. But it didn't convince me - the plot, the characters. I didn't feel the mood. After several attempts, I eased up.
Read better ones from Koontz. At times I had a feeling it was an early book of his (i.e. he seemed to close threads / justify events awkwardly). Still, a nice way to spend some free time.
I abandoned the book. Though I like Koontz's books in general, this one didn't convince me.
Ditched that one, I'm afraid. Not for my nerves.

I had to return and modify my review (doesn't happen often). I stopped reading the book initially, because it was almost creepy suggestive. The characters seemed real, the plot... well, if you haven't read it, see for yourself. It's a great book. One of the best I'd read. As for the ending... it would be tough to finish such a strong book otherwise. One of a kind!
One of the books I'd strongly advise reading - not for the interesting story, setting or characters, although it is a fabulous read. This book makes one wonder “what would happen if...” It portrays the many levels of mankind after a cataclysmic event we should definitely be prepared for.
A long book (> 1000 pages). At one moment the reader isn't sure if it's about a group of people, a town or something else... But I got hooked and couldn't let go of the damn thing. It's pretty scary at times and there's a touch of gore (as in the old King days). Still, I enjoyed it a lot.
