White men shouldn't write about issues they can't relate to. I respect that O'Dell had some historical knowledge and meant no foul intent. However, it comes of as white savior-y and holds a lot of inaccuracies. It's also wrong that white people are still profiting off of this book. That is all.

The beginning was so fun! And I love her writing style!
But halfway through it just got really repetitive and I began to lose interest

Some stories weren't for me but such a fun read! A lot of people were upset by how modern the stories are! But I loved that part!

Took me a while to finish but has such incredible stories. Had some slow parts hence the rating. Otherwise, a beautiful story!

So badly wanted to love this one. Some parts I found myself really engaged with but for 85% of the book, I was highly disappointed. The cover slays though.
Main protagonist is a little annoying. I did enjoy that I stopped reading this book at night bc it made me a bit paranoid!

The only book that has ever made me feel sick due to the gore (this is a good thing)! I've never read a book that has made me feel this way. Only downside was that since it is written originally in a different language, it doesn't translate well in certain parts.
