Really sweet book that digs into who Fred Rogers was away from the show. I came away with some great nuggets of wisdom & life lessons to reflect on. Easy to get through (I listened to the audiobook).

This is mainly for adult children of narcissistic personality disordered parents. It's a simple (yet painful) read, and it left me feeling validated & hopeful.
Wow. If you read this, let's talk!! There's so much I want to unpack. I lived this, raised as a (sometimes-homeschooled) fundamentalist in the 80s & 90s, and in spite of that lived experience this book still left me speechless.

This book is really well done. I stopped reading it because it angered & discouraged me too much. It's important info, & I likely would have finished it if I hadn't already devoured Jesus & John Wayne by Kristin Kobes Du Mez. I may revisit this one.
I thought this was one of this author's thrillers, but it's actually about a marriage. Not a fan.

Even though we have used & loved YNAB for about five years, I still learned some things from this quick, easy read. We just changed up the way we track our emergency fund because of the lessons in this book. Good for both new budgeters & pros.
I had the privilege of growing up adjacent to the deaf community. We spoke ASL in our house, as my mom was an interpreter & our closest family friends are deaf. This book taught me so much about the deaf community's historical experience - something I was too young to pay much attention to at the time. I now want to get back into speaking ASL! It's such a beautiful & expressive language. This book is a great window into the deaf experience & is an enjoyable story as well. I highly recommend it.
This book! It's everything people say it is & more. It came to me at the perfect time, exactly when I needed it. I highly recommend it- especially if you're hurting & healing.
