This isn't the best book ever written. However, if you wanna sit back, relax with a martini, and have some fun then it's hard to beat Bond.

Although, this isn't my favorite of the books it is still a quick and fun read that introduces you to everyone's favorite cold war spy.

Its a thing you like if you like this type of thing.... I've spent the last few years reading as many books on management and leadership as I can get into my hands. This is one of the few that I will read again.... This essentially falls into the don't be a jerk category of leadership.... aka not a Jack Welch book.

For new managers or aspiring leaders I recommend this book. It is well worth the few hours to help put your head in the right place.

This book has given me lots to think about and for that alone I really like it. Some of what Vance has to say about how his family spent money vs how money is spent in the culture he adopted in law school reminds me a lot of “Rich Dad, Poor Dad”. While I have not lived through the chaos he describes, I feel that I've been adjacent to it and there are certainly elements that resonate deeply with me.

I need to read more criticism about the book. I read it because it was recommended by many but after reading it I'm wondering what they took from it.... I feel that it kinda explains some of the pessimism of “Trump Country” but I also think it points to the naiveté and arrogance of liberal policies and interpretations of these communities.

This book made me sad. I think if Mr. Gore had been willing to present himself as passionatly and strong as he presents his ideas in this book then the last 8 years would have been different.

I don't remember studying the Khans in any of my history classes from elementary through undergrad. All my history classes frame civilization rising from Egypt to Greece to Rome and then Europe. Any mention of Asia is simply as backward barbarians. This book helped provide a far more nuanced view of the Mongol society and contributions of the Khans to our shared history.

Mr. Weatherford does an excellent job telling the story. I had a hard time putting the book down (or pausing audible).

I highly recommend this book for anyone interested in history or just a good story.
