I teared up several times. A very powerful difficult story. One that as an American I've never heard before, but should be more widely read and understood.
Great little book with thoughts and meditations on relaxing. Includes a few good tips on meditating.
I really enjoyed it. If you are a statistics geek and love reading social science studies (I totally do), then you will get the most out of it. It also contains plenty of his humor which is great and adds breaks between the hard data.
So excellent! I have one bit of advice though, which is how I came upon reading it. Don't read it, LISTEN TO THE AUDIOBOOK!!! It is so so hilarious. I was laughing out loud a lot in my car. She has special guests read portions (I won't ruin any of them) and the last chapter is read live at UCB. I can't advise enough GET THIS AUDIOBOOK!!
Excellent beautiful little book on consumerism. “A scarf can do so much, but I can only do so much”
3.5*
I didn't totally love the ending, but this is the fastest I've read a book recently. I don't normally read in this genre, but the cover intrigued me at the library.
Listened to the audiobook, which really enhanced the experience. Absolutely hilarious, and a very fun time.
Excellent memoir. Completely readable (read in 2 days) even when tackling dark subjects. Long time fan of Paul and loved reading this.
I'm realizing that the short romance stories I've read just don't do a good enough job of creating a believable relationship in a short amount of time. The writing just seemed a little flimsy for me. I also hate when women or girls are called princess. This wasn't bad, I enjoyed it fine, I just didn't love it.
I loved it. Great read and it really stuck the landing. When everything comes together... ooo so good!
I've heard about this book for years and finally got around to reading it. I wish it were longer. I wish there were sequels. I wish there was a tv show and a series of movies. I just absolutely loved it. A great read.
Probably my least favorite, second epilogue of the Bridgerton series so far. It barely has anything to do with the central couple and more to do with Eloise finding out Penelope‘s secret. But the resulting story doesn't offer much. I would much rather it have been a peak into Colin and Penelope‘s married life.
To be honest, I thought something else was gonna happen in the end, but I did like it a lot. I loved the artwork and would totally get this for my kid if I had one. I also loved the authors note at the end.
Barely any story and mostly replays what you already know from the first movie. Also it's hard to tell characters apart in print.
My least favorite of the one shots. I don't think there was enough there to warrant the story.
Another enjoyable one shot. As with the others, I wish it was a full length book and more fleshed out (pun intended). Second book in a row that made the joke “thyme is money”.
One of those books I'm glad I read it via audiobook, read directly by the author. Very personal very real and well told.
Very easy fun read (until the much discussed scene at the end of course). I can see why this is the series Netflix chose to adapt. There's a lot of great banter. I hated Antony in season 1 of the show but I can see he's written that way. I enjoyed the family dynamics in this one more than the couple.
3.5 stars
One of the worst books I've ever read. Switched to the audio book and still could barely get through it.
