Ready Player Two is like a loveless DLC: same map, worse quests and the hero is suddenly Elon Musk with social problems. Instead of cleverly celebrating pop culture, the book trudges through stale references like a tired cosplayer on the way back from Comic-Con. The story? Contrived. The characters? Forgettable. The antagonist? "You're evil now, just accept it."
It's as if the success of part 1 had been rewritten using the copy-paste button - and forgetting that creativity is not an optional extra. Only those who really want to read everything from part 1 again - only worse - are in the right place.
