Ariel Bradley had two brothers fighting in the conflict known as the American Revolution. When General Washington needed help, he used young Ariel, only 9 years old to discover more information about the troops that were under the British. He needed information, and the young boy was the perfect one to go in, due to his age and innocence.
Oh my, what a story! I LOVED THIS BOOK! As I was reading through the information at the back of the book, they tell the story of Ariel when he grew up, and also what the profits for the book will be used for. As a veteran, I was pleased to see that they are donating to the Fisher House, which is a place for families of wounded servicemembers to stay while their loved ones are being cared for in the VA hospitals. This book is definitely on my list of ones to recommend!
If your kids love history, as mine do, then they will enjoy this sweet little book about a brave little boy and his service to General Washington.

A fabulous and flowing tale of the journey of a young woman as she navigates the many political and intricacies of life. This book was amazing, and one that was captivating from the start. I had a hard time putting this book down, and I would highly recommend this book to anyone that enjoys historical fiction, especially from post World War II, and through the Cold War. A great journey on the road to discovering one's self.
Princesses are supposed to have bright futures of glittering balls, grand marriages, and dreams of ruling a country as queen one day. They are not supposed to be moving from place to place, worried about their family, and whether or not their
The three daughters of Charles I led sad and short lives. None of them lived long, and each of them faced different challenges in their lives. From their father being beheaded while they were young, to the struggle of their brother to gain the throne of England, these princesses led very different lives from some of their counterparts. Instead of having grand matches and large doweries, they were living on the generosity of others.
This book was amazing! I can't give it all away, you are going to have to read this one yourself. The sad and short lives of these princesses still evoke sympathy for their short and dramatic lives. Add this to your to read shelf now!
The murder of Sherri Rasmussen was a horrific act that devastated countless people. She was vivacious, well-liked, and outgoing. If you are going to read one book this summer, grab this one, it is a masterpiece.
When Sherri was murdered, no one could figure out who had done it. Although there were some who had their suspicions, it was not until many years later that the truth finally came to light, and when it did, it left an entire community in shock. The murder had been committed by John's ex-girlfriend, someone who was to uphold the law - she was a police officer.
This book was an “oh good heavens, what am I reading” novel. I was horrified at the precision that Stephanie undertook, and the very callousness that she held within her. Her obsession with John led to the murder of an innocent person.
As for the husband - don't even get me started. More than once (probably more than 100) I wanted to reach into the book and shake him senseless.
Get the book, and read it. It will leave you in a roller coaster of emotion. It was fabulously written!

Bess brings the items to her house and begins to go through the documents and clothing, trying to figure out who they belong to.

She even begins to feel as though she was back in the cabin, during the time that the mysterious couple lived there. But that could not really happen.. could it?
A great little story! Perfect for kids who love a mystery and for those who are gaining their confidence in reading!
This is one aspect of history that has often been overlooked. The book “Pullman Porters” helps to bring back to life the many men who worked as Pullman Porters on trains across the country.
FABULOUS READ! This is a must to read to your kids!
I went into this book with a lot of hope. I had heard some great things about it, so I was hoping for a well-rounded story. If you like romance, then this is a book you might enjoy. If you are looking for historical fiction, keep going.
Elfrida lost her husband at a young age. When he tells her on his deathbed to go to the King, she is not sure what he means. But, she follows his instructions and with her father soon sets off for court, where she will meet King Edgar.
As the story progresses, they begin to figure out a way to put aside his second wife and make Elfrida his new wife, and queen. But it is not going to be easy.
Elfrida becomes the first woman crowned as queen of England, alongside her husband.
As I stated at first, I was rather disappointed with this story. I felt as though the “passion” that they had could have been minimized, and the real story of these two brought forward. She was a powerful woman and one that would be influential for years to come, even after the death of Edgar. To put her in this light, well, it was as though nothing else mattered. Not one that I will recommend at all.
If you are looking for some great short reads, check this out! I enjoyed the stories. There are 10 stories in the collection, and each one has its own undertone and story.
Often when you are reading short stories, they tend to build off each other, each one following the last. Smith has taken these ten stories and completely worked a bit of WOW into each one.
While a little editing would not hurt, it does not take away from the stories, and the message that the writer is trying to get across.
If you want a short read at the beach, check these stories out now! You can read through in a couple of hours (or less depending on your reading speed). Just sit back, read, and enjoy!
I look forward to seeing what this author comes up with next!
If you enjoy a good mystery, then you are going to LOVE this book! Completely unforgettable, and full of amazing details and stories.
In “Unsolved Mysteries of World War II” the author takes us on a fantastic journey back to the war and the many puzzling cases and events that still leave people scratching their heads. While some of these are full of conspiracy theories, the fact remains that something happened. However, we might never know the full truth behind these unsolved cases.
As someone who has a background in history, this book called to me, and I was not disappointed! I was enthralled from the start, and this is one book that I cannot wait to be released so that I can add to my bookcase! The many stories that are encompassed within this volume, are bound to pique your interest and remind the reader that there are many aspects of the war, as photographed and covered as it was, that might never have a satisfactory answer.
Put this book on your pre-order list now, I promise that you will not be disappointed! Michael FitzGerald had done an amazing job, and carefully compiled the many pieces of evidence that are available, and leaving the reader to draw what conclusions you will - my research list just got a whole lot longer!
