I loved this book and the stories contained within. This book is one of those that is needing to be labeled a MUST READ for the year.
Open the book and fall back into these stories - you will NOT be disappointed

If you are looking for a book that is more than just the usual, “Texas is great,” then you have to read this book! I could not put it down at all! From start to finish, it held my attention.
Jack Coffee Hays was an enigma in his time. When men like Davy Crockett and Jim Bowie were larger than life, Jack was more quiet in his methods, but he got the job done. If he didn't know it, he learned it. If he was good at it, he wanted to be better. He did not only hold himself to this standard, but those who served underneath him.
The Texas frontier was a lawless and hard place to live, but with Jack Hays, it became a place where families could grow and build.
See Texas from a different perspective, and discover the man that everyone has forgotten, one of the most celebrated Texas Rangers of all time.
This is a must read book! Get your hands on it now, you will not be sorry!
Get ready for a swashbuckling adventure! This book was fabulous and I absolutely LOVED it! Full of great information, and written around a fabulous story, get to know the King of the Pirates as never before!
When a former hangman is found dead in his bar, everyone believes that it was a suicide gone wrong. But Sarah is not so sure about it. She feels as though he was murdered, and she is determined to prove it.. at any cost possible.
The entire murder seems to go around one hanging, one hanging that holds the key to the entire case. But as Sarah, Mick, and Hugh investigate, they find themselves on the wrong side of the law, and with Sarah's boyfriend being a police constable, it is making things strained.
As the case moves forward, it is just entirely possible that they are the next victims in the secret of the hangmans death.
Oh my, I loved this book! It was fabulous, and I could not put it down once I started. It held my attention from the start!
Owen Tudor fathered a new era in England. By marrying the widowed queen of England, he fathered children that would help to shape the future of England. His life was not one of ease, but it was one that took several surprising turns, ending with a bitter end at the end of an executioners axe.
While I am a Ricardian (I know...) I still enjoyed this book, which brought to life the grandfather of the future king of England. It was an engaging and fun read. I highly enjoyed it! Get this one your to-read list NOW!
Take a ride through an America almost forgotten...
This book was refreshing and engaging. I enjoyed the history of the Cherokee people. This book was full of interesting information and kept the reader engaged throughout!
If you enjoy American history, then you are going to LOVE this book!
Cady is off to photograph old carousels in France, and submit for a book that is being put together. But along the way, she is going to find more than just carousels, but maybe even find who she is in the process...
This was a great read, and I really enjoyed it!
When several girls go missing and some turn up murdered, its a case that the police are baffled with, but when two spunky older ladies step in to try and help find the killer, its bound to lead to some interesting developments...
This was a great read! I enjoyed it!
This book is an emotional and riveting view of one man's journey through the military, and beyond...
Roger Sparks is not your typical person, he exemplified the military lifestyle, pushing himself and others harder and farther then they thought possible. Warrior's Creed takes us on a journey that one will not soon forget. I was enthralled from the first page, and could not put it down. As a veteran, I listened to the story and could only imagine what he was feeling, thinking, and going through.
I am still processing my thoughts on the book, but WOW, this was an eye-opener!
This book is a surefire winner and not your typical “military read.”
Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for an ARC copy for an unbiased and original review.

A great book! I had a hard time putting it down!
The Civil War is one of the most written about pieces in history, but this story brings a side to light that is not often seen. Lt. Loring was taken prisoner after he had to surrender his ship to Confederate forces. After several years, and two escape attempts, he finally makes it back to the Union forces.
The story that unfolds here is one that will not soon be forgotten, and the small act that he played in the aftermath of President Lincoln's shooting, can be hailed as heroic.
I really loved this book! It was amazing!
Oh my goodness! What a book! There was so much information that I was unaware of, and this book lays it out in explicit detail. Between Ireland and England, the great debate that raged for decades over the “Catholic Question.”
Not only does this book answer a lot of questions, but it dives into the backgrounds of the men involved, giving quite a bit of detail about motives and so much more! A great read!
Fabulous and engaging! I loved these stories, but they are not for the faint of heart!
What if a dead pharaoh, Tutankhamen came to you for help in finding his lost queen? What would you do?
Rosa knows she must help, but there are going to be dangers along the way, and what if something happens to her? Would she ever be allowed to go home again?
I really enjoyed this book! It was fun and a quick read!
Hannibal was one of the greatest generals of his time. However, as the wars with the Romans are raging, there are other battles happening, and these could make or break the coming army.
Caros fought with Hannibal, earning himself a wicked scar and a bit of a legend around his name. But when he is accused of a murder that he did not commit, he and his small band of warriors must do whatever they can to clear his name - and stay alive in the process.
This book was a good read. I will admit, at the beginning of the book, I felt a little lost as it jumped from scene to scene with no real clear cut path between it (but that is the editor in me talking). The book lover in me fell into the story and managed to piece together what was happening, and then move forward. There were not many places where the story lagged, and it seemed to come together nicely.
The story of Caros, although fictional, brings back to life some of the lesser talked about conflicts on Hannibal's path and brings in some characters that you want to follow. You will rejoice with their triumphs and feel the frustration when they are halted.
Fair warning, there are a few places within the book that could be a trigger for some people, but overall, well done and enjoyable!
A curse that has been passed down for over 500 years, and one woman determined to end it all....
The house was left in her mother in laws will, but as they begin the work to fix it up, something seems to be stirring in the house, and no one is able to figure out what. When things begin to happen, and her marriage starts to fall apart, Laura will do whatever it takes to keep her family, and stay alive....
This was an interesting book, but there are a few graphic scenes which some need to be cautious about. While there are some parts that are fast paced and suck you in, there were a few sections of the book that seemed to drag, and feel as though the book was lagging.
Joanna has to make a choice - stay and remain the Duchess of Brittany, or leave her children and become the queen of England.
This was an interesting read - it had a little more romance than I was expecting, but overall the book was decent.
Karl and his family are navigating WWII the best that they can. As the war rages in Germany, they are finding shortages everywhere, and the world they knew turned upside down. As Hitler and the Nazi party push the war to greater heights, the people of Germany are told they must do whatever is necessary to win, even if that means signing up young teens as soldiers.
When Karl and his brother Hans are taken to become part of the SS, they are not sure if either of them will see home again. For a while they manage to stay together, but after their surrender, they are separated. Hans heads off to unknown territory, and Karl must use his wits to stay alive.
After he and a friend manage to elude their Russian captors, they work their way back toward their last location, and then start working toward the town that a farmers wife told them about. As they surrender to the Americans, little do they realize that they are about to witness the full horror of what the war in Germany has wrought, and the many horrific stories that they are about to encounter is only the beginning..
This was an interesting story. It really took me a bit to get into the book, and I had to put it down, and come back to it at another time. Eye opening and well done.
My Review of Ronaldo and The Phantom Carrot Snatcher
Ronaldo is working very hard to become one of the best fliers out there, and working hard to break the record. But when carrots start to disappear, he sets out to solve the mystery. What he finds is a lost wolf cub, one of the enemies of the Reindeer. But there is something about this young cub that is different. Ronaldo befriends the young cub, and they work together to find her family, all while he still tries to break the record, and prepare for the big day.
My Thoughts
This was a super cute read, and very enjoyable! I really enjoyed reading it! This is perfect for kids, especially as it deals with friendship, and making friends with those that are not the same as you! I look forward to letting my children read this, and I know they are going to enjoy it as much as I have.
Take a ride back to the wild west! Jump on a stagecoach and gear up for the adventure of a lifetime.
This book was amazing in so many ways. We know about the background of the detectives, the pony express riders, and the men who risked their lives to transfer gold dust, bullion and so much more across the plains. With the gold rush in California, there was a more urgent need for bonded men who could safeguard the money and gold dust being transferred, but that did not keep desperadoes from trying to get rob the stagecoaches.
That is where the detectives would pop in, and track down the men that were responsible for the robberies.
We know the stories, but we don't know the men. Now we do. John Boessenecker does a great job in bringing these legendary figures to life, and bringing their stories to a much broader public.
I absolutely loved the book, and getting to read about several places that were familiar. Mount Shasta, Klamath Falls, and so much more - old stomping grounds for me.
Great history, and well done!
