Each person is different, and the author does a great job of pointing out how each person has their strengths and weaknesses in this book.
We often think that we have to be good at everything, but in this book, youth learn that it is okay to not be great at everything.
Little Mole Goes to School is a cute little story, and perfect for younger readers - especially right before they head off to the school year!
Well - I am not entirely sure what I want to say about this book....
Prepper's Medical Handbook - I figured it was going to be something along the lines of “if you get XXX while doing XXX, you can use XXX in a medical emergency..” but no. That is not the premise of this book. I am going to admit to being a bit disappointed. Having a military background, many of the tips in this book make sense, but its not a true prepper's medical handbook. The sources are suspect, and the information is more general.
I think it has a good premise, but the title needs a change, there needs to be better checking of medical sources, and perhaps an updated version of the book in the future will address some of this.
Not one of my favorite reads of the year, but definitely kept me entertained for a few hours..
Scare Street delivers yet another winning short story collection! These three stories will have you shivering with delight over the perfect level of creepy - yet believable content.

This was a cute little story!! When Smudge's humans bring home a new human, he is excited to teach her all the things she needs to know! From treats to medicine, and making new friends - this book covers it all!
Super sweet, and a quick read! Perfect for young readers!
I love reading books about wildlife, and this was a fun one to read through! Get to know Ringed Seals better than you ever thought with this amazing book!
From their young, to diet, living, and predators that eat the seal, this book gives you a great insight into the lives of the Ringed Seal.
Perfect for young readers, and adult readers who want a jumping-off point! I will be sharing this one with my boys!
Perfection in a book!
I bought this book with the hopes of learning a little bit about the history and mystery of Washington after moving here. I enjoyed the stories although there were some that I thought could have used a little more research and time working on them, as they seemed a little choppy and didnt exactly flow well together.
But for anyone that wants to get an overall view of a few of the things that have happened here in Washington, this is a good place to get your feet wet.
Enthralling History has done it again! Medieval England was one of my favorite books that I have read from them so far!
Get to know Medieval England in depth with this concise and fun book! Get to know royalty, daily life, the black plague, women's roles, and so many things from this book!
I really enjoyed reading through some of the myths that came from the medieval times, as well and digging back into history with this fun book!
I highly recommend this one to those who enjoy reading, and who might want to dip their toes into the medieval history of England!
Every now and then you read a book that makes you just sit back and go “OH MY GOODNESS.” I am reviewing this, even though I have not fully finished the book - the link expired before I could finish reading. While I was wanting to read more - it was hard to read on the computer after spending hours each day in meetings. I have this on my list to buy when it releases.
I have always enjoyed the Civil War, and finding books about battles in the area where I live are just that much better - as I can share the history with my kids as we walk the sites.
The amount of research done by Jeffry Wert was amazing, and I was blown away by the flow of the book, the ease of the read, and the information that was presented.
The battle for Spotsy Courthouse was one that was brutal and bloody- and through the portion of the book that I was able to read before it expired, I was truly hooked. Using a variety of sources, and reconstructing the battle itself, this book is one that all Civil War history buffs are going to want to add to their shelves.
I look forward to purchasing and finishing the read! This is one that I will be recommending my students pick up for their book reviews.
This book is one that is going to make you sit back and want to cheer for these brave men.
Get to know the men who disappeared over New Guinea and the search for answers that has spanned more than 80 years.
The author does a great job in fleshing out each of the men, and their stories.
I highly recommend this read, it was one that could be difficult to read, but so very worth it. History lovers will enjoy this one.
I absolutely LOVED this book! Archaeology has always fascinated me, and after spending some time on a dig in Israel, I could not pass up this book when it came around.
Jerusalem has always had a varied past, and this book brings about the different religions that make up the center of Jerusalem, and the many controversies that have surrounded some of the digs that have gone on.
Andrew Lawler brings a delicious history of the times, excavations, and unrest that has run through the streets of Jerusalem, and sheds more light on the different areas of controversy.
An absolute must-read for history lovers! You will not be disappointed at all!
Following the Call: Living the Sermon on the Mount Together
Taking the Sermon on the Mount is one that most people - religious or not, are familiar with. The authors here reflect on the message, sharing their thoughts and the message they see from the text.
This was an amazing read and one that I am sad that I did not get to before. It was amazing and full of great insight - whether you are of the same faith or not, that can help to aid in the study of the Sermon on the Mount. Highly recommend this one!
Ohhh, Its hard to think these short story volumes can get better, but oh man, do they ever! Volume 25 has three more stories that are beyond amazing, and you cannot afford to miss these!
From a haunted bassinet, one brother killing another brother, and the ghostly girl that stands in the window of an abandoned house - these stories will keep you riveted throughout!
I loved each of these! They were great!
Interested in the Black Death, but not a medical doctor? That is just fine! John Aberth does a fantastic job of diving into the Black Death, doctors trying to figure out what was happening, and worse of all - how to treat it.
There are jokes (okay, we are going with jokes) that there were times that you were better off without a doctor unless you were looking to leave this earth. Even something as simple as a sore throat could be a death warrant with some of the quackery that was going on.
However, there were some doctors that were doing everything they could to really save lives, not just relying on “this is how we have always done it,” but looking for something new that might actually keep their patients alive.
During the time of the Black Death, there had to be a lot of despair among doctors, as they searched for not only a reason but a cure. Breaking down the causes, diving into the histories, and some of the prevailing theories of the day.
While you might want to feel overwhelmed at times while reading - keep going! It is so very worth it, and is full of so much fabulous information. I was not disappointed at all!
If you enjoy military history, you are going to LOVE this book!!
Sparta was definitely a follower of “military might” and the many conflicts and wars they were involved in speak to their readiness, and almost enthrallment with warfare.
Sparta did have different aspects, such as their myths, legends, and the history of the Trojan War. You will also read about women and their lives, the military, learn some of their dishes (one does NOT sound appealing), and other aspects of daily lives for the Spartans.
Honestly, I enjoyed reading through this book. There were aspects of Sparta that I was more knowledgeable about, but there were pieces that were new to me. It was a fun and informative read. One of those, I think I could probably sit down and read again!
Highly recommend reading this great book!
Warning - this book contains graphic scenes, and some of them are not for the faint of heart.
They say nothing good happens after dark, and the residents of Joliet, Illinois were about to discover how true that actually was.
During the summer of 1983, a serial killer stalked the streets, killing almost at random. The residents were scared, people started locking their doors, and young couples thought twice about visiting lovers lane. But they soon discovered that it wasn't only the dark they had to be fearful of. When four women were murdered on a Saturday morning, the realization that true evil was in their midst, was very plain to see. The townspeople wanted answers. They were angry that their terror was being splashed across the pages of newspapers across the nation. But the serial killer was not quite finished yet.
What law enforcement, and many residents were unaware of, was that a convicted rapist had been released back into their midst. He was careful to lay low, and stay off the radar, but throughout the investigation, he surfaced.
Serial killers can often blend to their surroundings, leave very little trace evidence behind, and elude law enforcement - for a time. While DNA and forensics were not as strong as they are today, there were still things that could be done in 1983. With the help of a witness, a survivor of the bloodbath, the serial killer was eventually identified.
Join the hunt for a killer, the twists, unknowns, and brutal summer that visited Joliet, Illinois. This book is one that true crime fans are going to enjoy!
Kevin Grange takes us through the wild rescues that happen in the National Parks.
I really enjoyed reading through the stories that were in the book and the different perspective that the author gave. He trained as an EMT, and after working in some of the rougher neighborhoods, decided to go to the National Parks. There are some really tragic cases in this book, but the author treats them all with respect, and the trained eye of a medical professional.
If you enjoy the outdoors, medicine, and a bit of rough and tumble - you will enjoy this read!
Dive into another culture! Needing medicine, three children set out from their grandmother's house, looking for the items that she requires, while leaving gifts before they begin gathering.
Along the way, they meet 7 visitors, each representing one of grandfather's teachings.
I truly enjoyed reading through this book, and of course, am missing the taste of frybread! One of my favorite treats! The illustrations throughout this book are truly breathtaking and bind the story together.
Highly recommend this book!
If you are looking for a cute story that is going to make you giggle, this is it!
Four new friends band together, looking for a better life than what they had, looking for a fresh start. On their way to Bremen to become musicians, night falls. It is cold, they are hungry, and as the rooster goes higher, he sees what could be a warmer place to spend the night. The animals make a plan, start a racket, and then fall through the window! They scare the robbers in the cabin off, and the animals move in for the night. They find they love it there so much, they decide to remain for the rest of their days.
I enjoyed reading this, and look forward to sharing with my boys! Great book for those who are learning to read or enjoy a great story!
What happens when you encounter a bully? Bonnie Blue Button thinks that she is better than most of the other buttons, and consistently puts them down. She may be pretty on the outside, but on the inside, she is a very ugly person. After she is chewed off the dress that she belongs to, Bonnie Blue Button is turned away by the other blue buttons. She is no longer shiny and pretty on the outside. After a conversation with another button, she goes back and makes amends to the buttons that she has insulted in the past.
This story tackles the bullying that can occur with kids. Words can hurt. I enjoyed reading through this book, and hope to share it with my kids.

100% recommend this book! I am almost jealous that kids have such great books to fall back on! I wish these had been around when I was younger! I would have definitely enjoyed some of these civilizations more. Perfect for home libraries or school libraries.
What is better than a great book? THREE great books in ONE! I have read all three of these books, and there is nothing better than having them all together. Now, as I prepare to teach these great civilizations - I have one fabulous book all in one spot!
