won this book from first reads! I was very excited about it and after reading it, the wait was worth it.
this was an advanced unfinished copy of Burning Blue, so I did find a few grammatical and spelling errors. however, the story was engaging and relatable. it was a quick read for me as well, but I thoroughly enjoyed it!
I'd heard good things about this book, and I was expecting a lot more than what I got from it. Maybe its because I'm not a 16 year old boy, but a 24 year old woman... but there were so many things in this book that annoyed me.
I mean, what 16 year old boy doesn't know what masturbation is? And Charlie just CRIED. TOO. MUCH. His obsession with Sam was like, “UGHHH, GET OVER IT!” There were also times where I had no idea what was going on, until like 3 pages later when it was explained, which I found irritating.
I really loved this book. It was amazing in the simplest of ways. I loved the relationships between the characters, the dialogue, the simplicity in which it was written. It was a pretty quick read, mostly because I could not stop thinking, “Oh my GOD I need to keep reading.” I just, loved it to pieces. John Green at his finest, yet again.
I have mixed feelings about this book. Generally, I liked the plot. But how it was dragged on FOREVER, not really knowing what was going on, Nora's OBSESSION with Patch, and her weird visions of her dad, all annoyed the living hell out of me! I just wanted to slap her and tell her to get over it! I was pleasantly surprised at the ending though. I definitely was not expecting the bad guy to be revealed as who it was. The last few chapters were the best parts. the rest was just annoying and not as good as Hush, Hush.
This is BY FAR my favorite book of Stephenie Meyer's. It didn't even feel like it was written by the same person who wrote Twilight. I loved the originality of this book. My favorite part is the relationships between Wanda and the other characters, from how distant and cold, to when they grew to love her and accept her. I havent read a book this large in a long time, either, and it was not hard to finish. If Stephenie Meyer wrote more books like this, I'd definitely read them.
Holy fuck, I love this book. This is the third book I've read from the amazing Mister Green, and I loved this one as much as, if not more than Paper Towns and Will Grayson, Will Grayson. I don't know what it is about John Green's books that are so freaking amazing... other than the inventive storylines and relatable characters. I'm just gonna blame it on being a Nerdfighter... yeah, lets go with that.
One of my favorite books from when i was younger. I could relate to Carolyn in many ways. I've read it more times than i can count.
I tried to listen to the audiobook of The Raven Boys. But I just could not get into it. IDK if it is just because I wasnt fully paying attention (I usually listen to audiobooks while I craft) but it just didn't keep my attention, and I had to keep rewinding. Its has such good reviews that I know I will give it another shot, but I just need to actually read it. So for now, it is DNF and back onto the TBR. :(
I used to absolutely love this book when i was a kid. I've been trying for years to remember the name of it, and i just stumbled across it on amazon. all i could remember was the story about the girl with the ribbon around her neck. it was my favorite story for the longest time.
