The Perks of Being a Wallflower

I'd heard good things about this book, and I was expecting a lot more than what I got from it. Maybe its because I'm not a 16 year old boy, but a 24 year old woman... but there were so many things in this book that annoyed me.
I mean, what 16 year old boy doesn't know what masturbation is? And Charlie just CRIED. TOO. MUCH. His obsession with Sam was like, “UGHHH, GET OVER IT!” There were also times where I had no idea what was going on, until like 3 pages later when it was explained, which I found irritating.
