A very thought provoking read. This book is very adept at presenting the reader with a well though out story. The author takes his time to introduce us to Walter and his world. Despite all of the descriptive narrative, the reader is still left wondering just what is going on. Halfway through the read the story switches gears and presents the reader with a whole new scenario just as the reader is coming to terms with what is happening to the protagonist. This is a little jarring at first and like the main character, we are learning to accept what is happening to him. It is never clear at the end if this was something that happened to everyone, or just a select few, or even what really happened...but I believe this is the intent and this is okay. I think this was a very good read and I would certainly recommend it.
I really enjoyed this book I think mostly because the setting takes place around my home town and surrounding areas. That aside, I think it was well written and seemed to be well researched. There were times that I got a little tangled up in the relationships between all the townsfolk.
I like this author and will definitely look for her other books.
Very good book. Offers a unique glimpse into the other side of the restaurant business. I have read other reviews citing poorly written, no substance, etc.
Like many movies of today, this book is what it is, a rant! I think the author was humorous and detailed situations that we can all relate to. I would recommend this book as a great read.
This book was really good. It presented an evolution of technology that makes you think. It makes you think about our relation to technology and the morals that come into play. A real though provoker.
I first stumbled upon Greg and Jennifer back in 2000 when they were making Rosaries out of twine. I wanted to make my own. Then I began listening to their Podcasts. These people are awesome. This book is a very well written account of their own challenges as they try to live a faith based life.
