This book was extremely cute and kept my 3 year old engaged the entire time. He can't wait for my to read it again. I loved the illustrations in the novel too. The way they incorporated a lot of the land marks specific to Florida was on point in the book. I wish there was more FSU stuff and less Gator but that is just a personal preference.
This was so nostalgic for me. I read some of the baby-sitters club books when I was younger but I wasn't a huge reader.
I loved this one because there was a rift created in the club that could have ended things for everyone in the club but ya girl Mary Anne was able to fix the problem. I think this was good because it was EXTREMELY relatable. Any friend group is going to have a fight like these girls did or something very similar. Thankfully, Mary Anne taught us how to handle it so we don't loose our friends all together.
I absolutely loved this novel. It was very easy to get into the story from the beginning. I was worried I wasn't going to enjoy it at all because I don't normally read something like this but I was surprised how much I did like it.
I loved the intertwined story lines that end up coming together at the end. It was great to read about Violet and Audrey living there lives as young secretaries in Hollywood working at the studio during Gone With the Wind filming and on. Violet and Audrey were written as real people because not everything went their way, even in the end we find out things don't always go there way. I loved the secret that the two friends had all the way until the end. It was pretty amazing.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who would read it. I would rate this 4.75 out of 5 stars on Goodreads.
This was so cute. I really think young kids in 2nd or 3rd grade would really love this. The imagination Haggis and Tank have is so creative and everything kids should be doing.
my son was interested in the story the entire time he loved heating about the lions mostly. I also enjoyed hearing about how Kevin was going to stop daydreaming and really enjoyed that his teacher gave him an outlet for it.
would read to my son again.
Not the best
It was an interesting story but there was a lot going on that bothered me. I plan to write more later.
I didn't know what to expect when I went into this short story collection. It is obviously a first book for this author. It read that way. There was a lot of bad translation in the book that bothered me.
This is a cute continuation of the first book. Would highly recommend if you've read the first of the series!
received a copy for an honest review
I was skeptical about this book when I agreed to read it and review by a specific date. This was not my cup of tea and it just made me angry.
The main character was so pretentious and bitchy that it made it hard for me to like anything she was doing. There was no back story as to how she is the Baroness. It sounded to me like she came from a poorer life but it never early went into details about how she got to where she is no in the story.
Her inner monologue and commentary about the people around her is probably what irked me the most about this book. She would pretend to help people, as long as they paid her the exorbitant fee, but then talk trash about them to her friend.
This book was a no for me.
Loved this book so much! Really loved the dynamic between Sophie and Benedict. I love Violet and this just made me love her so much more.
I absolutely loved this book. I listened to it on audio from my library. The banter of Kate and Anthony was amazing. It kept me intrigued the entire time. The fact that Anthony had to sway Kate in order to win her sisters heart was the moment I realized that Anthony and Kate would actually fall in love. The one scene that made me gasp was the carriage ride scene. OMG. I couldn't imagine the horror and pain Anthony was feeling at the time, hearing his wife was under the carriage! Oh dear! I am thankful that Anthony managed to buck up and tell Kate his true feelings so they could live happily.
I don't remember much about this book other than it was a required reading in my english class in 2004.
This re-read brought back all the same memories! <3 This story just as much as when I first read it.
This was a cute little Christmas story. I meant to get to this before the holidays were over, but I just managed to get to it. This was a cute story about the magic of Christmas and all the things mother's do to make that magic feel real. In return, moms just want some recognition of their hard work. That is all. Again, very cute short story.
Loved this book. Can't wait for all the movies to come out. That is the reason I read the book, I wanted to read the story before I saw the film. So glad I did too.
I really enjoyed this novel in this series. This is a new to me author and I can't wait to check out the back log. I really loved the relationship between Nathalie and Violet was so sweet to see blossom. I really loved that Nathalie made sure that Violet was seen, heard and acknowledged for almost everything. Maddox and Violet's relationship was just as important to maneuver around and find their balance as Maddox and Nathalie's relationship was. I really love that this family is all together, the extended family included. I enjoyed seeing the brother's having a part of Maddox and Violet's lives as well.
