A slice of life story to hold us over until the next book and honestly I am here for it. Give me all the mostly happy endings.
I thought the book was good, but extra star for how great the audio narration was. Bc I was listening to it, the frequent transitions between Shakespeare quotes and normal speaking flowed really well. I also speak enough work jargon outside of work that I really have no right to complain.
It's definitely Dark Academia and I'd argue more character fiction than suspense (the cast is so small, hard not to figure it out).
I totally did not realize this was set in the 90s until there was a mention of a payphone at the end. Most of my complaints were resolved with that realization lol.
Colleges that do the whole “kick people out at the end of every year bc they aren't good enough” are dumb; be a better teacher if you think they suck.
Was not prepared for the story to be told from Jack's point of view but it was still good.
Definitely one of the better short stories in this collection but I think she's written better.
This book is so fun and silly. It doesn't take itself too seriously and really embodies ‘yes, and?'. I've also now picked up saying (internally ) ‘but i'm a fish, sob sob sob' and idk what that says about me
wow this one caught me a little by surprise. I thought the disability rep was handled really well and the story was so touching, definitly recommend
not my fave MXTX characters. The story about Airplane Shooting Towards the Sky in story was fun though
Several stories pulled from the Clone Wars TV show. A nice mix of characters and well narrated.
Picked this audiobook out purely based on the title and did not realize it was about my hometown! Can confirm we learned about the Moonlight Towers in school but not the reason they went up.
Loved how he included extra information about the culture of the city at the time.
Bonus points for the excellent narrator.
Anything by Kimberly is an automatic 5 stars
(This was also fun and only 35 pages so just read it already)
This was fun and I finished in one sitting. Loved the mix of Clue and Knives Out with a dash of romance.
I definitely got stuck halfway through this one and put it down for a few weeks. But the 2md half definitely picked back up. I still don't like this series as much as HOB or Grandmaster
Ok I fully did not understand 50% of the lore that happened in this book. It was paced simultaneously too slow and too fast. But I love the main characters and the extras at the end brought me back in.
The Scum Villain's Self-Saving System: Ren Zha Fanpai Zijiu Xitong, Vol. 3
Ok this one definitely picked up and made the series as a whole higher rating. No idea what's in the last book though, I think this one wrapped it up pretty nicely.
