I liked the overall story so wanted to continue with the last one as well, but it was just a little flat sometimes.
I was missing really surprising turns or at least some really strong story lines but somehow not a lot happened.
But I do like Kane and that is making up for a lot!
Coming to a 2,5 - 3⭐
Wow this was again so great! The story continued where it cut off and picked up pace from the start. Even though I saw most of the twists coming, I really liked how it was build to that and also several still surprised me.
Cannot wait for book 3, this is one of my favourite series so far!
Very good 4,5⭐
Loved this pre story to the main series. The romance was for me a little unexpected, I felt like it could have also been just friends... But the story was really good and probably now leads to me having to re-read all of TOG
3,5⭐
Not a big fan of the two MMC, but this could potentially become good on the next one. So will continue to find out how it ends. Even though expected, I liked the ending.
Wow I loved this so much!
The slow building of the world and the story really had me captivated. It was a lot of fun to be part of Ivy and Emmets slow burn.
Can't wait for the next book in the Duology
Such a fun read.
I really like the characters and so excited how this will end in book 3!
4,5⭐
Best series I read in 2024!
This is like a pre-story and then everything really takes off in book 2 and 3.
Ending of book three is an insane cliffhanger!
Summary of plot:
World is ruled by the so-called Descended and Diem is living with her family. Before the story starts, her mother has gone missing and nobody knows anything.
Diem works as a healer and is helping the King as her mother did before where she meets Luther, the prince.
Writing was good and I liked the story. But it was stretched a little too much.
Still excited for the next one.
Torn between 3,5 and 4⭐
I also liked this, but felt like it was not as good as book one. More foreseeable and the whole twists in the end didn't really surprise me.
Also not the biggest fan of the romance, but cannot really point it to something specific. Just not feeling so connected to the characters maybe...
3,5⭐ and will for sure also read the next one!
Wow, this just keeps getting better and better!
As before, wonderful writing and the story really took another turn towards even getting better. I loved all the turns, even the ones not so unforeseeable, and how Diana and Samkiel worked in this book together and also all the new characters being added.
But this book also seems like a lot like a filler to get more background, see different POVs and overall just understand more what is going on in all the different part of the group.
Summary of book #3:
Diana hides all of them with the help of the fate. Through a lot of diffeent POV, we also here what is happening to the other parts of the “family” and also what Isiaah and Kaden are doing, even some POVs by Nismera. It is revealed that they are all children from Unir, but only Samkiel is the real born one. So Unir kept them hidden and that is why they mainly want revenge.
Also the eye is revealed to be some of the old gods and they free Xavier from the mind control.
In one of the big scenes at the end, Samkiel actually gets his power back, kills Kaden, takes Isaah as a prisoner and they prepare to fight the rest. But “Death” brings Kaden back and also reveals some of his plans / future to Fate, which he forgets again.
Really loving this so much.
Very fun writing, a little crazy world building but that just makes everything more unpredictable.
Liked the ending even though was expecting something like this, so very excited for book #2!
4,5⭐
Better than the first one but still lots of editing /writing mistakes. The story did pick up and I like the characters.
The cliffhanger was a little expected to go this way, but still curious how the story will end!
4⭐
Was a nice in between, just something else again to know I prefer the romance with fantasy
Wow this was such an incredible story.
Shed a few tears in the end, so very emotional!
The story, even though it is based on Harry Potter and Handmaid's Tale, is just so so good and guts you in the heart. I could not stop reading. And also even if it is “only” fan fiction, there are so many parts that I also really loved the writing of it a lot. The setup of the book with the three parts also really kept me on my toes, even though some things were expected turns for me, I still loved (hated?) them!
Thank you so much for this experience, such a heart breaking wonderful 5⭐ read!
Very nice writing style.
It keeps you on your toes and not super foreseeable.
Story in a summary:
Diana made a deal with Kaden but she wants to escape. So when God samkiel / Liam comes back, she betrays Kaden by killing one of his top generals. She then helps Liam to get the Book of Azreal with lots of backstabbing and betrayal on the ways from her “friends”. In the end, she dies to help Liam but he brings her back - which leads to him loosing the book to Tobias who is actually one of the four Kings of those monsters.
While trying to steal back the book, her sister goes missing and is killed in the end by Kaden which leads to her becoming an even more powerful being (or so it seems).
I almost DNF, but then just had to finish it for the sake of having bought it... Unfortunately not really my kind of book...
Good story and I like the FMC and MMC.
But the writing is not so good and in general book 1+2 did not have a lot of story, could have been just one.
Summary of book #1:
You get a little back story of FMC and King Midas. He then schemes himself into another kingdom and travels there - with Auren coming later. They are ambushed by the red pirates who then sell them (involuntarily) to commander Rip of 4th kingdom.
Again very short book and not much story, but like overall where it is going.
Plot twists are pretty expected.
Summary of book #2:
Traveling with Rip she gets to know his “wrath” and actually starts to like all of them - especially him. In the end, she still chooses Midas and gets returned to him. But she (too late) realized that he is indeed just keeping her a prisoner. In the end it is revealed that Rip is King Ravinger and he also finds out that Auren is the one with the gold power.
Some more story finally in this book, but still liking overall the story and the world this is in.
Summary of book #4:
This takes place mainly in 4th kingdom - first at the secret village where all the people from the fae world are, then at the palace. We find out why he is called Rip, get to know everyone better. But Queen Kaila wants Auren to face the jury for murdering Midas and “stealing his magic”, so in the end her brother kidnaps her and brings her to the trial. She is sentenced to death and at the last minute Slade arrives. The book ends with Slade saving her with opening another rip, but when this closes also the one from before closes and everyone vanishes.
Also Queen Malina helps the fae open the bridge again and they start walking with their army into Orea.
Good continuing, although again not much happening.
This book only takes places basically in fifth kingdom castle.
Summary of book #3:
Auren realizes more and more that she needs to get out from Midas and tries to flee. But she also gets closer to Ravinger and finally they cannot hold back anymore. So she decides to go with him. Midas in the end can pressure her but she explodes and kills him while also exposing her magic to everyone. Ravinger saves her to this secret area he negotiated from Midas.
4,5⭐
This is amazing! Really love the world and the ending is so good, very excited for how it all turns out.
Wow I did not expect to love this book so much!
It is so well written and such a captivating story, cannot wait for the next book!
Clear 5⭐!
