Like every Sanderson books, i felt in love with Skyward. SciFy is not my favorite genre, butr he manages to make me love it ! At the start, i didn't really like Spensa, the main antagonist. Okay, she had a tough childhood but she's still mean sometime and didn't like people with no reason... I was glad she evolved through the book, and her flighmates too ! We had everything in this book : characters evolution, action, team-building and humor ! I actually am at one click to buy the sequel ahhaa PS : M-Bot, my favorite
Nearly 3 weeks after reading the first book, we get into the second book with Julie and Manon. Unfortunately it was again a big meh for me :/ It manages to be better than the first one but I didn't find it particulary interesting. Some characters are boring or unlovable, like Séverin (a pity because he was one of the very few I liked in the first book) and I still didn't understand the usefulness of Laila... There are some good points like a good story, good riddles (too far-fetched), some romantic tension and a very good surprising ending ! So, in the end, I'm gonna read the last one but not very soon :D
Actually, it was pretty good ! Even though, it's not a five star, I can't wait to read the next book ! Why not five stars? I can't explain, but something is missing. Or maybe it took some time to set up the context or the plot. But still, the writing of Schwab is perfect, the two-POVs is working and the dark atmosphere gives us a good story. A pity : I guessed some twists so it was not really surprising :'(
It's completely out of my confort zone. I'm used to fantasy, quest, actions, so I began this book with of lot of apprehension. And hopefully, I was wrong to have them ! I really love this book :D Even though I have some problems with the beginning, I completely fall in love with the writing and the story of Addie. It's one of the first book I really like for the writing, first. Either Addie or Henry, it's so easy to identify oneself... V.E Schwab managed to describe our human life-problem and give a lot of thought about it. I strongly recommend to read it!
It was a really good reading. I really appreciated how the main character, Kvothe, evolved through the book. Moreover, the storystelling was pretty unique. However, I can't give it 5 stars : this book miss two things : some twists and an interesting storyline. Maybe some people manage to be hooked to this, but I need some twists ! Hopefully, the writing was wonderful and the worldbuilding is perfect ! I heard the second book is better, so I'm sure to keep reading it.
I finally read it !! It's been on my tbr since a while but I can't bring myself to read it. The reason : more than 1200pages (or 28 hours of reading). So it's been read since the beginning of February and been paused by several buddy reading. But I finished it yesterday! And what to say about it? Did I already mention I love Sanderson books ? I f***ING love it ! I cannot say a lot because I don't wanna spoil and, with Sanderson, more we read, more we learn. I love this kind of writing , when we learn about the universe, the world, the magic and the past... And I don't know why I read it because now, I have to wait for the next one to be published... So yeah , thumbs up again for Sanderson
Now, I understand why there is a reading order in Cosmere saga. After finishing this book, I made some research and discovered some connections between this book and Roshar Archives. Of course, now i want to reread this book series.
Talking a little about Warbringer : like every Sanderson books, I love his writing.
About the story and the plot : i liked the story even though it's bit long to introduce the settings.
About the characters : except Vivenna, i liked everyone, some ones were very funny
About the twists : I LOVE THEM BECAUSE I DIDN'T EXPECT THEM !!!
What an end ! Maybe it's because I read it a long time ago, but I had forgotten like 50% of the book, so I was pretty happy when I (re)discover some chapters. I remember I was quite not satisfied with my first reading, but this one was really good (except the final fight...). And, of course, how I cannot be sad with this end... I really hope we will see Alagaësia again !
It's not a discover, i have already read it 2 times, one in French and one in English. But i couldn't say no when my friend offered me to buddy read it ! And i have NO REGRETS. Even though i already knew the book, it was still a real page-turner. Discovering the Glades, appreciating every shanks, a real beautiful experience. Some twists are predictables but it doesn't remove the stress we have through the book.
i'm gonna confess : i didn't remember when I read it younger... And I only saw the first movie ... So I was pretty happy when I read this one ! Kinda surprising , I was afraid it was gonna be the same thing than the first one because Collins manages to make a interesting plot ! We discover a lot of new characters , and for once they are mainly likeable ! I'm wondering if there will be a lot of betrayal next book ? Of course , Peeta is still the best but I don't really like Katniss , triangle love As never my favorite trope but she manages to make it worst ... I have my suspicions the last one will be really different (maybe no Hunger Games ) but I know I'm gonna read it eagerly.
I prefered this first ones, because this one seems different, we don't follow exactly an education for every students or some kind of adventure for Morrigan and her friends. We are more focus on Morrigan herself and discovering on how to be a Wundersmith. Not many theories to have, more geopolitical and a bit of covid-flashback ahahah But what a end !!! I still don't believe i have to wait October to put my hand on it....
It's still a pleasure to read Artemis Fowl, a kind of light touch amidst my other readings :) Even though I prefer the fifth one, this sixth book was interessing for time travel theories and i quite agreed with the theorie “Everything is already done” :)
But /!\ SPOILERS ALERTS/!\ I haven't expect a thing would happened between Holly and Artemis :O /!\ SPOILERS ALERTS/!\ .
I think this book was a good book because we could see the evolution between the machiavelic Artemis-from-book-1 and good Artemis-from-book-6. Can't wait to see the next book :O
I can't define what I think about Prison Healer. I like it, it's fluid, it's not difficult and the characters are enjoyable. But , the first part is kinda tiresome... I mean, nearly nothing happened. But the second part was great !! Hopefully the twists were not guessable, so I manage to be really surprise to learn about powers, true identity and secrets. So, in all, it was a good read and I'm looking forward to read the second book.
I had a bit of pressure when I began this book. It seems very appreciated by the bookstagram community. So hopefully (for my life) I like it ahaha. Not love it, but like it ^^ But I've been warned, the first book is the background/settings book, i'm sure i would love the next ones ^^ So, the book itself : yeah, it's a rewriting of Beauty and the Beast but i don't care, i didn't have the feeling of it when i was reading. The characters were really interesting ! One of things i didn't like is they don't really evolved, except their feelings :) And Feyre (pronouced Feyra :O) had really in mind “Oh my god, it's killing machine”, it's funny but too-long joke... I'm sure to read the sequel soon, so i'll be back about ACOTAR !!
I love this book !! So much better than the first one (even though the first one was already very good). I can't even list everything I love about it : good plots, fluid writing, deep characters, good/bad/either thinking and so many plot twists ! I had so many theories in my head, I was so happy they turned out right :D I can't even imagine what's coming for the next and final book... Jaren and Caldon are two different and opposites characters , but they managed to be my favorites ones
It was really really good, I love it ! The first book left me in a “meh” mood, but a lot of people keep pushing me to read the second one, because it really starts there. And I can't agree more with them ahaha. First, no argument here, I'm team Rhysand ! I can't support Tamlin, so selfish and inconsiderate... Second : this book was so hot !! like a lot !! I can't imagine how the next ones could be more than the second one.
In sum up, I love this book, some cliffhanger, the characters were good, funny and pleasant to discover, with various personalities ^^ and Rhysand was the best, definitively !!! I really like what the end announces for the third book.
Even though i really like this book, I can't define what I think about it. I mean, I can't manage to sort out good and bad guys in it... The universe and the world building are awesome even though it's hard to follow names, tribes, statues... A good thing that the author decided to use two POV, we followed two very different characters so it helps to grasp every part of the story. But really, I don't know what to think about Dara : I like him a lot at the beginning, but there are some dark parts so I cannot decide. In all, I can't wait for the next book, maybe it would help me to have one more precise review ahaha
I read it when I was 12 but, at this time, I didn't really like it. But, like a lot of books, I didn't like them when I was young. I gave it another try when I was older and in english. What a surprise when I discovered I really like it ! Actually, the writing was really fluid so it was pretty difficult to put down the book.Even though I remember the whole plot, I held my breath for some time ! At first I didn't like Katniss, her character was a bit of a cliché. But, after some chapters, i begin to like her but i still like Peeta the most ahaha can't wait to read the next one
A perfect finale ! It's really enjoying to discover another kind of story : for once, we are not following studies at Hogwarts but a full quest of finding the Horcruxes. Actions packed, twists, betrayals, losses and loves. This book is gathering everything ! I'm sad for two things : 1) I finished (again) Harry Potter and 2) I didn't manage to finish within a month...
Actually, it's really my favorite I think ! I don't know why but I really like how the feeling are treated in the book. I mean, of course, how the (love) relationships are explained. Everything is not black and white, and seeing the multiples jalousies add something more. Rowling managed to describe perfectly this “creature” of love inside everybody. And, of course, the main story is so great. For once, Harry had the right intuition, it's so funny to read how he wants to demonstrate he's right !
And every time I read it, I can't stand the secrecy behind Dumbledore. So much could be more simple if he talks and gives some explanations....
it's getting darker, bigger and better. We are saying goodbye to the friendly relationship between our 3 favourite students, they are growing up, they faced losses and developed new feelings. It was very interesting to read the tension between them. It's why it's one of my favorite : like real life, it's black and white, even between friends, there is a grey area.
I don't really remember how I felt when I first read the Shrieking Shack scene, so much stress around it and so many revelations !! Maybe i'll be yelled at, but i don't like Ron much, he's so mean with Hermione for little matters...
