One of the first Fantasy novels I can remember reading, and still one of my favorites. It helped me become happily immersed in the world of D&D, where I continue to this day.
I didn't expect to enjoy this as much as I did. I often struggle with some of the older classics and how flowery the language in them can be, but the writing was very evocative and I could easily follow along.
Really, really cool concept and overall story. The writing struggles a bit at times though. I wanted to like this even better than I did, the author's music lyrics are stellar, and it wasn't reflected in the book.
This was a fun read. Nothing serious, or ground-breaking, but a fun little superhero adventure story. Characters are memorable and the interactions are well-written
