Not as good as the first, but has me looking forward to #3! The quests aspect was a very welcome addition.
This is a really cute kids book with an awesome message. My kid wants to read it like 6 times every day.
Feels like World War Z, but dragons instead of zombies. I really like the storytelling method they used, where it's a collection of journals, interviews, etc. (like Dracula, or the aforementioned WWZ). This was really, really good. It got a little dark for me at times, which is keeping it from that 5 star, but I'm glad I finished it. The actors bring life to their characters, and you feel everything they're going through. The fear, the hope, everything.
The fantasy aspects, the lore, the story are significantly better than I had expected going into this. Some of the adult scenes drag it down a little. Overall I'm pleasantly surprised. Oh, and the main character isn't a self-centered asshole, which is also refreshing

*NEW ACHIEVEMENT**
New Book series added to favorites. You've picked up a new book series to obsess about. While dark at times, it was still funny and enjoyable enough to shoot past all those other books on your to-be-read pile.
**REWARD?**
7 more books to continue through before the crushing despair of a great series ending.
I didn't expect to enjoy this as much as I did. I often struggle with some of the older classics and how flowery the language in them can be, but the writing was very evocative and I could easily follow along.

Parts of the story were cool, but the plot of a family betrayal doesn't really have time to sink in. Within like 5 minutes of the book starting, the betrayal is already done. You have no time to learn why the betrayal should be so heinous.
I love this story so much. It's silly and fantastical and just peak Discworld. Every time I go back and re-read or listen to it, I appreciate it more. The most recent audiobook with Peter Serafinowicz is my favorite.
This has been one of the best audiobooks I've finished recently, even beyond the science sphere. The information is well researched and presented in a way that is incredibly informative but also easy to digest. Definitely makes me want to look for more I can do to volunteer or donate or help.
Really, really cool concept and overall story. The writing struggles a bit at times though. I wanted to like this even better than I did, the author's music lyrics are stellar, and it wasn't reflected in the book.
This was a fun read. Nothing serious, or ground-breaking, but a fun little superhero adventure story. Characters are memorable and the interactions are well-written
One of the first Fantasy novels I can remember reading, and still one of my favorites. It helped me become happily immersed in the world of D&D, where I continue to this day.
After having just finished the game, this was a welcome jump back into the world.
My only real complaint is the constantly shifting perspective, which changes often, without warning, or indication who the story is currently following.
Good adventure story, good plot, fun picking out all the game details from Pathfinder. The dialogue was not always up to the quality of the rest of the book though.
