Annoying main character. I skipped large swaths of long descriptive passages.

Most of this book was like a very long “Who's on first” skit. Sometimes too ridiculous interspersed with laugh out loud moments. Enjoyable but not my favorite by Backman.

I've enjoyed the series. Freeman never disappoints.

Too convoluted a plot for me at this time. Made it through about a quarter of the book.

Great start, easily guessed middle/ending.

Funny, with lovely relatable characters. You must be attentive or the plot will shimmer and you will miss the transition.

Wonderful hook to begin the book, middle development was strong but the finish was rushed and banal.

Worth the read for an older book. I can't see reading the subsequent titles in the series.

Loved half of the duel storylines. Listened to audiobook and Kingsolver is excellent but recommend 1.25x speed.

Have used it as a selection for reluctant readers. I found it fascinating but you need a pragmatic view of scientific research.

Really 3.5 stars. A fun easy read. Care about the detective and the characteres in the town. A good read.

Better than first book. I enjoyed the Minnesota references.

Quirky and interesting premise. A fast and fun summer read. I just could go higher than two stars because the writing is so uneven.
