The plot twists in the beginning were fantastic and compelling. However, they set up a momentum that the book couldn't keep up with, so it became least captivating and more predictable towards the end.
I feel like i just lost a limb...yet i'm so happy about the loss. Roth you are killing me!! I'm a giant puddle of emotions!!!
An absolutely extraordinary read. Being a long time fan of the movie, this has been a must read for me for ages. It is so rich and so powerful. If you are a fan of the movie it is an absolute must!
Absolutely fantastic. Best Batman story arc I've read in years! A masterpiece rollercoaster from start to finish
Interesting enough premise, but it didn't get nearly enough into the bigger ramifications of the setup for my tastes. It also made the grave mistake by ending on an unfulfilled teaser for a story that would have been immensely more interesting than the one Wright decided to tell.
For being a bit of a throwaway pickup, I ended up enjoying this immensely. It was much more action-packed than I expected and I really respected and appreciated that it didn't shy away from the more realistic topics and reactions of its era.
I rather enjoyed the Wall Street drama, though i was hoping the Escape Room would play a larger role.
I liked the switching narrative between the group and Sarah, although it definitely made the plot points easier to predict. Which I feel is a big loss in this genre. You lose a lot of necessary steam in Thrillers if you can see what is coming.
This is the second time I've read this book and it still remains my favourite of John Green's novels. I can relate to every character and their dynamic so well. Each character has flaws and it helps make them more real.
Ugh such a beautiful novel. I somewhat wish i had read this as a child because i can imagine it would have had such an incredible effect on me.
This was utter utter trash, but really, I knew that going in. I wanted smut and was served it on a, hmmm....silver platter seems to good for this.
I wanted smut and something that was even I modicum of improvement over Fifty Shades and it's How-To Guide to Abusive relationships.
God knows how I finished this and the sequel, considering both required such an extensive suspension of belief that I'm surprised I believe in anything anymore.
But I think the fascination of two entirely fucked up people going everything they could to make it work was just engrossing enough to keep me reading.
It is a slight improvement on Fifty Shades, and not nearly as abusive (though still hardly a healthy relationship). But it was interesting to see two fuck ups in their prime.
Very interesting material, but a lot of the expert witness guests felt like time fillers rather then enjoyable and interesting content.
Fantastic world-building and a great fairy tale retelling. I was really really enjoying it, until it became painfully obvious that i'd predicted the ending very early on.
