I read this book after reading the second book in the series. I enjoyed Knit One, Kill Two much more than the second book. The mystery kept my attention more and the relationships seemed more geniune. I also understood more about Kelly's character and why she acted the way she did in the second book.
I really liked this book for what it was. Not the best book by any means, but entertaining. What really bothered me though was the ending which seemed totally out of place and made me wonder if I was missing a chapter out of the book.
We read this as part of the ABC Jesus Loves Me year one curriculum. Little One loves seeing the big red dog and I found the story enjoyable as well. I think older kiddos will find a lot of humor in Clifford's mistakes.
One of the first audio books in awhile that kept me wanting to keep listening in my car after reaching my destination. I thought the first two sections were brilliantly written and performed (on the audio book) but the third section (ending) was just disappointing and anticlimactic.
I liked the message behind this book and the idea of creating margin in our lives. The idea that this is written by a doctor is powerful as well. I ended up skimming much of the book though. I felt it was wordy and over complicated for a book about simplifying lives and creating margin. Also overall it felt the solution for creating margin is to move to another country, preferably third world. I liked the book but would prefer a more simple approach to the message.
Almost a little too scientisy for me, but overall a really good story and well written book!
This was probably my favorite out of the Twilight series, probably b/c I could just suspend my thoughts that it should be set in some sort of reality. Also, it was kinda nice not having to read Bella's griping for hundreds of pages.
Little One and I read this today. A lovely and charming story about an ADD little pig. I'm looking forward to reading this with her even more as she gets older.
I really give this book a 3.5 stars. I liked it, but didn't love it. The beginning was slow to me, but I enjoyed the book more when it picked up in the second half. I'm never a fan of romanticism of Romeo and Juliet, so I wasn't a big fan of that pat. Also was not a fan at all of the ending, although I did somewhat expect it.
This book was very interesting. The story is almost hard to believe, hearing it from an insider in the community. You feel like you are almost a part of the community as well. I would recommend this book to anyone intrigued by the polygamous lifestyle. But be aware, it's not pretty.
Not sure what I think of this book. It was a good story and the fact that it was told through a child's narrative let you see some things I think you wouldn't have seen from an adult's point of view. However, the child's narrative gets a bit old, fast, even when listening. I imagine it would be that much more tiring to read. A creatively told story, but not a fav of mine.
This was a powerful story, told beautifully. That being said, this was also a disturbing story. So disturbing that there were several times that I had to turn it off because I couldn't handle listening to more of the story at that time.
An interesting tale and an interesting narrative. A different look into a different life.
I read this through Daily Lit's feeds, which was nice b/c I wanted to read it but really didn't want to buy it. It was an interesting story, but not very developed. I think it could be a very interesting story if developed further.
Interesting concept and story, but I was not a fan of the style of writing. Be careful not to read the essay in the front of the book or you will ruin the ending before you start.
Of course I had to read this book with all the anticipation built up in me from the first two. I was glad I got to see the story played out to the end, however I can't say I was really happy with how the book went. But maybe that's the point.
Interesting stories within the story. Felt it was a little harder to relate to this book, probably because of the cultural aspects. I didn't love this book, but it was a nice read.
