I read this book in one day, so yeah, you could say I liked it. I don't usually tear through a book that quickly unless I'm interested in it.
I bought this book after seeing the first episode of True Blood during our cable's HBO free preview. I was surprised about how accurate the first episode was to the beginning of the book. I wish I hadn't seen the episode, because it would've been nice to be able to picture the characters myself without having Anna Paquin and Steven Moyer pop into my head the whole time. That being said, I want to read the rest of the series and then go back and watch the shows, maybe renting when the season comes out or something.
This book was much better than I expected, fast paced but easy to follow, turns that keep you surprised and a main character that I really liked. I guess so soon after reading Twilight I was a little weary, but this is nothing like Twilight in any sense of the word. Thankfully.
Both the book and the show seem to be good, but I would suggest reading the book first, and then watching the show. It's easier to imagine if you don't already have pictures there.
I really liked this novel from Lynsay Sands, one of my favorites from her series. I liked how for once the lead woman's life wasn't threatened. I like it took much longer for Sam and Mortimer to develop their relationship. Great book!
I'm one of the few who hadn't read a Harry Potter book or seen a movie. I wish I would've started the series 10 years ago. Cute, charming, likeable characters, great plot. I loved it.
WONDERFUL book. Not in the least disrespectful in my eyes (and I am a Christian who can be sensitive to that kind of thing at times), although of course it is fiction, just as the author himself emphasizes. I would really suggest this to everyone. The afterword was the icing on the cake to me when finishing this book.
Read this to Little One tonight. Being a week old I'm not sure she totally appreciated Amelia' antics but it was a fun late night read that took me back to my childhood.
Fun book. Great to listen to while doing other things like exercising and cleaning. Looking forward to the rest of the series. Georgina is a fun narrator.
This is one of the most captivating books I've read in a long time. The story is engaging from the first chapter and I had a hard time putting down the book, reading it every spare moment I had.
I didn't like this nearly as much as the first book of the series, or even as much as the second. Too much poetry and such. Not able to connect with the characters personally.
During the first bit of this book I was not amused. I almost gave the book up, but decided to stick with it and I am so glad I did. The story picked up quite a bit with the trip to Guernsey and I began to love the characters. The book made me want a pen pal and to be able to write with Juliet's enthusiasm. Such a sweet and interesting story. I hope for a sequel!
I can't help but enjoy the characters and style of writing. I didn't enjoy this as much as the later novels I accidentally started with, but I did enjoy it and it was fun hearing some more back story on the characters.
Cute start to the Goldy Bear series. Really liked Arch and Goldy's relationship in this one.
Another great Goldy Bear story. Although I did have a harder time with this one and how Goldy is always just walking into danger, don't do such stupid things ALL the time G!
It's hard to pull yourself away from this story. An intriguing look inside the sect, yet a different perspective than that of the book Escape.
I didn't watch 90210 as a child, I was a little young for it at the time it was out and was much more into Babysitters Club books at the time. I had a rough idea of who Tori Spelling was, but didn't really think much of her until I started watching the TV series Tori and Dean: Inn Love. I bashfully admit that I'm a bit addicted to the series and find their reality show personas really endearing. Long story to say, that's the only reason I wanted to read this book.
The book is well written, the author who wrote it with her did a good job. I was suprised at how it seemed like probably big chunks of her life was left out, but hey - I guess if it's your book you tell your life the way you see it. I also felt like she was more trying to justify her life rather than tell it. But I guess your whole life in the paparazis' eyes can do that to you as well.
I can't say I agree with all of the choices she made in life, but who am I to judge. I especially cringed when she wrote about meeting Dean, cheating on her husband and the consequent divorce. I'm not a fan of that sort of thing and reading her justification was hard. I told my husband after reading the book - “If that was supposed to make me like her more, it really failed.”
It was an interesting read and did answer some questions that the reality show brought up for me.
I enjoyed the idea of the zombies in this book, an interesting take on the story. Had a hard time following a lot of it because I just don't know the military terms.
I thought I would give this story a try since I was so enthralled with the Hunger Games Series. I wasn't impressed with the first chapter, but loved the book from there. Suzanne really knows how to write charming characters and help you feel emotion for people, animals, and insects that you didn't think you would care for. I really enjoyed this book and plan to read the rest of the series.
This was a really great book, perfect for a Hamliton fan. I borrowed both the audio and e-book version from the library and went through them at the same time. I think this is the ideal way to enjoy it for someone who likes audio books. If you only listen to the audio version, you will miss out on many of the notes throughout the book.
This was an exhausting read and I didn't even read it, I listened to it on audiobook. The book was very well written and seemed to be very well researched. I loved Walter's way of writing about Jobs.
Jobs on the other hand had no redeeming qualities in my book. The people he lead do make nice products but there is no need to pummel people all the way to get that.
I honestly thought by the description and reviews on this book that it was for an older audience (older YA) but it is clearly not. I got a little dragged down with main character some, but that is to be expected given the target audience. An interesting story that got better as the book went on. Not sure if I will continue to read the series though.
This was an entertaining book and I enjoyed hearing the story of Felicia's life. While I did roll my eyes at some of her retellings because of the style at which she addressed areas of her life, overall it was really enjoyable. I particularly enjoyed hearing more about the making of The Guild and it was fun to go back and rewatch some of The Guild after reading it.
This is the best book I have found so far explaining Intuitive Eating in a relate-able, knowledgeable way. There are other great books out there that compliment this one wonderfully, but this is the best I've found. I found myself nodding along with almost everything the authors had to say. Dieting mentality really messes with your brain and I”m so thankful to find Intuitive Eating to find a healthy balance listening to the wonderful body that God gave me.
This was a fun book to listen to with a lot of likable characters. Would like to read the others in this series.
