Holy cow. I have three questions:
1. Was this written by a Middle Schooler?
2. Was this edited by a Middle Schooler?
3. If no to the above, HOW WAS THIS PUBLISHED?!
I'm sorry, I'm usually not harsh in my review, but this book was painfully bad. The author felt the need to detail every tiny little thing, down to the color of the neighbor's toenails. NONE OF THIS MATTERS! This book could've been 200 pages shorter and still told the same story. It felt like I was listening to something written by a child, and even then, they could've done better. I have not disliked a book this strongly in a long, long time. The narrator was awful, too.
We all remember how it felt as a kid when all we wanted to do was play, but EVERYBODY was busy, busy, busy. Fifi just wants to play, but all of her family is busy doing other things, so she and her dog felix come up with a plan.
This book was cute enough, but I didn't like the overall message of manipulating family to spend time with you. I also think it was a good opportunity to have said, oh felix is bored too, I'll play with my dog! The illustrations left a lot to be desired, but it wasn't bad.
Thank you Netgalley for the ARC
The illustrations are FANTASTIC, but the story was very strange. I felt like the author was trying too hard to be ~deep~.
A sweet slow burn. A disc golf lesbian doctor is definitely not the kind of representation you see often, and not something I knew I needed. If you're into gumpy/sunshine, accidental romance, and LGBTQ, this is for you!
Thank you NetGalley and Jae!
Edit: after sitting on this review for a couple days, I am not feeling as positive about the book as I did before, it was still a good read. Final rating is a three.
Lauren really knocked it out of the park with this domestic thriller! I truly didn't see any of the twists coming, which is rare since I read so many thrillers and mysteries. The different POVs were well executed, although I didn't see the need for quite so many; it would've been better told through maybe three, four maximum.
The narrator, Emma Woods, did a WONDERFUL job as well.
Such a sweet little book about birthday parties and what to expect. I love the illustrations.
Apparently, I am in the minority with this book, because I really, really didn't enjoy it. I have never cared less about what happened to the characters in a book. To sum up my feelings, after reading the entire thing, my main thought was, “so?”
This is the most beautiful little book with soft and enchanting illustrations. I loved the minimalist approach to a bedtime story and would gladly buy this for anybody with a small child afraid of the dark (or adult looking for a cute picture book).
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with this book for free in exchange for my review! All opinions are my own.
That was...strange. I appreciate what the author was trying to say, but the execution was unfortunately lacking. The story felt very bloated and overly contrived. Sorry, I was not a fan.
The illustrations were cute, though!
Goth Moth is such a unique book, both in illustrations and story. I think most kids will love this little tale of a moth who dreams of rocking out.
Thank you to netgalley!
This one is for the introverts! Hedgehog is a timid little guy who is feeling bored of building the same home year after year, so he plans to build a house from a pumpkin. Along the way he makes new friends who help him overcome obstacles.
The illustrations are gorgeous and the story is cozy and sweet.

I don't know how to feel about this one. I definitely didn't see the twists coming, but that's because it all seemed insanely implausible. I can suspend disbelief for a good thriller, but this really seemed far fetched.
This is a very maximalist book style that very young children will enjoy flipping through, but older children and adults may find it a bit too cluttered. I would still recommend!
This is absolutely the most charming little book! The illustrations are fun and adorable, and the story actually had me laughing to myself. I would pick this up for anybody who loves dogs, cats, or a good chuckle.

Wolf is such a fun character for a children's book! The illustrations are colorful and cozy, perfect for a Christmas tale. The story may be a little confusing for younger readers, but for 1-3rd grade it's perfect.
This is a BEAUTIFUL story of family, hope, and love. It is about the life of a violin in a happy home that was captured during the Holocaust and locked away. Based on true events with historical and cultural facts; it gave me chills.
Lovely illustrations, as well.
I LOVED THIS! I blew through it in about 15 minutes, even though I wasn't planning on finishing in one sitting. I hope Kyle Prue writes more in the comedy genre this because I need more in my life.
This book is perfect! Crocodile keeps getting more and more hungry throughout the day after skipping breakfast, thankfully his good friend, Hippo, steps in before the monkeys become a snack.
The illustrations are absolutely precious!

Can I give this book a negative rating? This whole series was so terrible and I can't believe I actually finished it.
