Not my cup of tea. Even though this is quite a short story, I tried to enjoy it, but there were many passages that felt boring and tedious to get through. For example:
1. The whole baseball subject
2. The old man talking to his hands
3. The overly detailed description of the fishing process
That said, I understand the moral of the story, which I believe is:
1. You can't stop yourself from growing old, no matter what
2. Aging makes you realise how fragile and limited you are
3. Life doesn't always have a happy ending, so you should try to make the best of it
I get why some people love Hemingway's works, but his style just isn't for me.
The reason I started reading this book is because a couple of my friends recommended me to read the Foundations series. After looking up on the internet for some info, I quickly found out that Asimov wrote more books that is related to the series and it was recommended to first start with the robot series before starting with the foundations.
I finished reading the book and I probably won't read this again because of several reasons:
1. The ideas around robots, AI, technology seems to be very outdated. I understand that it was very revolutionary for its time.
2. The dialogue and the characters were bland and a bit childish in their thinking at times.
The reason I gave this 3 stars is because I tried to go back and time and pretend as I am reading this for the first time.
I am not sure if I want to continue with the robot series and the foundation series because I kind off know what to expect from these books and it won't probably blow my mind or motivate me to read more about it.
I have always been a huge Matrix fan, so when I heard they were releasing this collection of graphic novels, I didn't hesitate—I ordered it immediately. I absolutely loved the short stories, each told in a unique graphic style, which added depth and richness to the lore of The Matrix.
