I really enjoyed this book at the start then it got boring for me around Essay 65 and was hard to finish. I've read alot of self-help books in the past so I could just be over this type of book.
After finishing this book, I immediately looked up books that are similar - that's how good Fern's writing is. I thoroughly enjoyed this book - it was dark (check content warnings), informative (she talks about being a late diagnosed woman with autism) and funny.
I read this book as part of an online book club and now want my own copy. Everyone needs to read this book. This book is so good as it highlights how you are your own responsibility and not to takes things personally, etc. it's short but I had to re-read and soak it in because the words were so wise.
I had thought this would be better than it was. The storyline is very simple, almost boring yet the author keeps it interesting. Wasn't enthralled by the book as a whole though
A Radical Guide for Women with ADHD: Embrace Neurodiversity, Live Boldly, and Break Through Barriers
Perhaps this book would be better for those who have never read any other material on ADHD? I wanted a more entertaining book that told me quirks women with ADHD have that may seem “normal” but are not, etc. I was a bit bored overall.
This book is so helpful - to understand my own upbringing and how the political landscape has become what it is today. This was also hard to read as someone influenced and brought up in said movement and now sees it for what it was / is.
Really enjoyed this. Listening to the audiobook was harder to follow because of interviews then reading a tangible copy
This book started off strange and I was unable to finish it. The title doesn't give the reader a hint that this book is for women who have had a tough relationship with food. Nor does the title tell you that the program the author takes women through is often focused on weight loss.
This book was so helpful to me. I highly recommend for those who already know a good bit about the enneagram, esp their number. I'm always wanting tangible advice so I loved that she gave that in addressing relationships with each number.
I thought this book was okay. Was a little too Christianese for me at times. I love the encouragement of rituals it gives tho. My favorite part was the end where reflection / journaling questions are asked from each chapter / topic.
Loved this book. So so helpful. I didn't read the whole thing but read the intro and all the info on about half the numbers including mine and some best friend's numbers. Also love the podcast these authors produce.
I didn't listen to the last half hour of this book because I was over it. Did not enjoy this book at all. Author expresses a fear of being seen as a “feminist” 🙄. This book is surface level and veryy repetitive. Ew. Uses outdated church terms.
This book was alright. Enjoyed the science explanation Curtis gave on shame. But I did lose interest half way through or so
This one's really good for inner heart work. Highly recommend it. I already want to re-read/re-listen. Very good for those who are working to figure out their calling. Also good as it talks about accepting your whole self. This is a short, easy, understandable read.
The Gaslight Effect: How to Spot and Survive the Hidden Manipulation Others Use to Control Your Life
I enjoyed the practical examples of this book and it also felt like too many examples. I was hoping for some more science based answers of what happens in gaslighting
I listened to this 11 some hr book in two days because it was THAT good. The author writes the stories of the various characters so well & keeps you on the edge of your seat.
I wasn't as wowed by this book of Anne's but it was also the first time I listened to an audiobook version. Still so good and words to soak in 💗
Absolutely loved this book. Kate is wildly intelligent and shared much scientific research regarding periods
I didn't read this entire book - maybe read half and certain sections. Highly recommend it tho as it explains the Myer Brigg personalities SO well 👏🏻
I wasn't planning to read this book (thought it might be too Christianese for me) but my Mom gave it to me for my birthday so I decided to try to read it. Once I started reading it, I was hooked. This was the first tangible book (not an audiobook) that I read this year which means a lot after I got burnt out on reading from my reading challenge last year. 💯 I had trouble putting this book down. Hannah is very real & the encouragement she gives is so applicable to several friends my age in similar seasons ❤️
