I enjoyed this small, quick book lots and would recommend. I quickly read through because I solely stuck to reading the parts about my number. The authors approach the enneagram a little different with including a whole section on meditations and breathing exercises for each type. This book also helped confirm the number I thought I was. 😊
Claire Baker's knowledge and research is so helpful to know regarding woman's cycles. This was easy to understand and encouraging!
I enjoyed how truthful and open Esther was about her past. She writes so well on how REAL healing occurs and how much coping or sweeping things under the rug injures us. I only gave this a 3 because towards the middle and end it began to feel redundant. The book didn't end up resolved or wrapped in a pretty bow which I was a fan of since so many books end this way.
I chuckled and laughed out loud so much when listening to this book. I haven't read or listened to a ton of comedy books in my 2017 reading challenge so I loved the jokes & laughs.
Though hard to follow at times, this book was a good story and funny. My favorite part is the funny conversations she has with her son and his comments.
This book is simple and pure poetry. Gently takes you on a ride through different emotions and speaks well of loving others, loving yourself and letting yourself be loved ❤️
This took me awhileeee to get through. Mainly because the material is dense but greattt. I enjoyed the spiritual language he used - how he talks about the enneagram is more encouraging than other books that use terms like “deadly sins” etc. I know I liked a book when I read it and want my own tangible copy. That's how this one was for me. I would have wanted more practical advice outside of the prayer postures he suggests
Wooooof this book is incredible. I could not stop listening. Listened to the whole thing in one day.
I read this book for work & was a bit bored. It took me some time to get through it. I agree with another review I read that mentioned how some of the exercises suggested would be best to do with a practitioner as they involve recalling traumas.
I've been meaning to read this book for a couple years. Glad to have finally done that! The message was good but most of the book reminds me of other - clean the clutter and habit stack - books I have read. It didn't stand out too much to me
A needed book! I really enjoyed how Hartley explained emotional labor (how it differs from physical labor), and gave plenty of examples. It was an informative book but also told her own story of emotional labor in her partnership with her husband.
When I studied biomedicine in undergrad I began researching naturopathic medicine for my senior sem presentation and fell in love. I began reading this out of curiosity and am so glad I did. The truth she reveals about antidepressant effects is needed. I enjoyed the dietary recommendations she gives esp the evidence - based natural replacements she give for standard medicine.
Incredible. Highly recommend Colin Meloy & Carson Ellis's books ♥️ They are kid's books but I love the storylines, and the characters in their books
Really enjoyed this short, wise book. I will def re-read and listen to soak it up more
This was my first nonfiction book of Sue's and I loved it. I gobbled this book up and highly recommend it.
I wasn't expecting this book to delve into family relationships (& the anger from those). I really appreciate this book and will need to read again to absorb more of the wisdom!
This is one of my all time favorite books. I've read it multiple times because of the wisdom it holds ❤️
I'd recommend this to anyone and think everyone should read this. Boundaries are SO important but often not valued.
