This was delightful! Angelique is a strong female lead, who is intelligent, and the backbone of her family. Her brother is an idiot. Boy, if I were her, I would have slapped the shit out of him in the scene after she wakes up from bringing him home in his drunken stupor. The hero, Alex, is not overly domineering, which is a relief. He doesn't act like just because he is interested in Angelique he gets to dictate much of anything, but he does try to be overly helpful in a lot of situations.
There was not a lot of emotional grab in this book, just a little mystery and some good banter between Angelique and Alex. All of which was enjoyable, especially at the beginning of the book when Alex meets Angelique for the first time, and then meets her thoroughly drunk brother. (The brother is trying to save Ang from Alex, needless to say she doesnt need saving.)
Definitely a fun read! And the cover is absolutely beautiful.
3.5 stars.
I enjoyed most of this book, but I had a hard time getting into it. The action, once it started, kept me turning pages. I also like that the romance is more of an after thought.
This was ok. It was extremely short, which ended up being a good thing. I think if this had been a full length novel I would have been annoyed with it, but since it wasn't, I liked it enough. It wasnt spectacular, but it was better than many of the books I have been trying to read.
I am writing this review as a whole over all 11 books. This series was well written, the characters were developed, and I won't say I found a romance story in it, after what happened in the first few books. However, I was compelled to keep reading to find out what happened. This is not a story for the faint of heart. Yes, there is rape. There is physical and mental abuse, and again, I didn't think this was romance at all, but it was a well written story.

Wow. Wow. That was...a huge pile of disappointment. Steamy pile of disappointment. Wow.
So yes, the beginning of this book was basically the whole premise of The Village, but without the creepiness factor. Holy moly. Why did I keep reading this. First off, I thought that movie was a steamy pile of horse shit. So why would I like this book? I dunno, I like to torture myself. I just kept chugging forward. Thinking, this will get better. I know it will. Yes. But did it? No. And now I'm fucking annoyed with this book, and mostly myself for reading when I kept thinking I dont like this.
OH, and that romance? Just... not for me.
There is another book, but I have no desire to read it, I honestly do not fucking care what happens! That is saying something.
I think that maybe I just do not care for this author's writing style. I read her most recent book, Marrying Winterbourne, and this one, and I thought both were just ok for historical romances. I will not be seeking anymore out by this author purposefully.
This book was so good!! I really enjoyed Naasir's playfulness. I liked how much he respected Andi. And even though we are 8 books deep into this series, I am still wowed by the creativeness by the story line. It didn't drag at all for me, I didn't find myself skimming over chapters wishing the book would come to an end faster.
Um - mild spoilers. You are warned
Well, this will probably go over well with people who really like mercurial relationships in their reading, and obviously people who like the biker thing. I was reading this mostly to find out what happened to dear Cleo after the cliff hanger at the end of book 1. Well, I found out, and.... well. Lets just say it didnt make sense that her kidnapper in the second book suddenly let her go. Yeaaaaa, he just fucking let her go. Weird? Yes... okay whatever. And the sex? I read plenty of book with plenty of sex in them, and I was slightly baffled at the amount of sex in this book. It didnt really add anything to the story, except when Art passed out in the middle. That was kind of funny, but not funny, and awkward.
I am not enjoying this, I have forced myself to read 30% of this book, and all I can do is think about the next book I am going to read. Sorry, this just wasnt a fantasy I enjoyed.
Spoilers because I dont know how not toThis reminded me a lot of [b:Uncovering You: The Complete First Boxset 23598368 Uncovering You The Complete First Boxset (Uncovering You #1, #2, & #3) Scarlett Edwards https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1423680448s/23598368.jpg 43068951]. Not that it was exactly similar, but there were points towards the end of the book, especially at the end when Nox ended up acquiring her company on a 1 year contract. Yea, thats not exactly how Uncovering you happened, but I still immediately thought of Stonehart when Nox gave his speech to Alex at the end.
Well this one ended up being a bit emotional at the end. I can't wait to see how the series ends in the next 2 books, it feels like there is still a lot left to tie up.
While this installment is obviously still over the top, I felt like the world building was a little more solid. There were those unanswered questions I had at the end of the last book, conveniently all answered! I am not sure how Mayer is going to wrap this up in one more book, but it will be a fun read.
This book focused on the next “hero” that Alena faces, and it does not disappoint. Theseus is going to be a different opponent from Achilles because he is smarter, much more patient, and a demigod. Whoa. We also meet a few more members from Mount Olympus. All in all, if you read the first book, this one is a good sequel. Just remembering that ya know, it is a work of fiction.
I enjoy this series immensely. I like the playfulness between Ash and Janvier. I can't wait to read Naasir's story!
Ohhhhhhhhh Charley. And Reyes. This book was very fun. Charley and Reyes have some interesting communication problems to overcome. Ya know, with Charley being all pregnant and stuff, which you find out at the beginning of the book, no spoilers here. And the 12 hellhounds are after her, which apparently are bigger than normal hellhounds, so Reyes insists on being her sexy bodyguard.
The chemistry is great, the action is great. This is a great book. I keep thinking I am going to get tired of this series, and boom, the next installment just keeps me interested.
We find out more about Charley's celestial being! Not a lot, but its enough. And she is really starting to come into her powers. There are more appearances from Rocket and Strawberry Shortcake, and obviously there is Ubie, Cookie, and Amber. And there is a really funny scene where Amber is asking about grown up things and Charley gets a little flustered.
Yep, another great installment.
As a whole, this series was phenomenal!! There were scenes that made me uncomfortable, sad, angry, sad, hot... It was a ride. I can't believe its over. I feel like I am going to need a minute to breathe. Individually I wouldn't rate the books above a 4, but mostly because it would have annoyed me to wait for them. I am glad I got a box set.
It was a really quick read.... I wanted to really like it, but there was just not enough to like. And this has 3 things I love! Yoga, food, and hot guys!
I liked this, but not as much as the last Duran book I read. Nell is mostly a pretty confident woman throughout most of this book, but at the end she feels teeny tiny because of her upbringing. Blah. The end also felt a little rushed to me. But I really enjoy Durans writing itself, I was entertained the whole time even if I was frustrated with the characters and what they were doing.
Well, this little teaser of a beginning really has me wanting more!! I would have given it a higher rating, but these series books kind of annoy me, and I didnt realize that is what this was when I got the first one.
This was a cute, fairly short read. The cursed duke was an interesting character, but I was not feeling the romance between the two characters at all. I really wanted Cat to stick to her guns about living in Spinster House, which she did do mostly. She did make Marcus work for her, which was good, but there was no real spark. It was almost, too easy? I really enjoyed Cat's family setting, and the actual cat, Poppy, that roamed around Loves Bridge. I think that the next book in this series sounds pretty good, so maybe I will give that one a try.
I wanted to like this, but the sex does not make up for a lack of... plot. Sophie was also a really weak character for me, giving in way too easily. I just didnt connect.
I liked the ending, it just seemed a little short. This trilogy didn't blow me away, but it was a fun read. Most likely I am mentally comparing this to the Rylee Adamson series or the Elemental series.

This was cute, I liked how head strong Olivia was. I enjoyed most of this book, and I liked that Jason was kind of a moron at the beginning, and then had to really work to make up for his actions. Just what I needed before I head back to undulating hills in Nemesis...
3 to 3.5 stars. I wouldn't call this a romance. This wasn't a particularly good book, but something had me turning the pages past midnight. And I was left feeling incredibly sad when I abruptly came to the end of this book, which was at around 93% so that was annoying.
