This follows three sisters that are the daughters of a king. Their father has always protected his people and lands with his magic. But with the rise of Christianity, the magic is dying.
The sisters know they must return to the old ways or all will be lost. Especially with the Saxons on the horizon.
I loved the folklore. I loved the characters, and I loved the magic.
Thank you to Net Galley for the copy.
I am so glad I finally read this! I wanted to read it before watching the movie. I started the physical copy, and decided to switch to the audiobook. I thought the audiobook was fantastic! I'm not usually a fan of multiple narrators, but this one is well done in my opinion.
I loved this book!
Now I need the box set!
I was really excited to listen to this one. Catherynne M. Valente is an author I hear about a lot, and I was hoping to love her work. Sadly, this was not for me. I can see the appeal of her writing style, but this was nonsense in my opinion. I found the announcement of the community rules interesting, then it went downhill from there.
I didn't care about any of the characters at all. The narrator was ok. Maybe I will try this author again in the future, but I'm not in a hurry after this one.
Thank you to Net Galley for the review copy.

This novella is a mixture of many genres. There's Gothic, horror, post-apocalyptic.
Iraxi is pregnant and on an ark of survivors fleeing their flooded kingdom.
Her child could be the end of them all or it could be what saves them. Either way, Iraxi doesn't want this child. She has a feeling it isn't entirely human.
I enjoyed this. The ending made me want the next one right away. I loved the narrator. She is fantastic. I also found this creepy. I'm intrigued to see where this is going to go.
Thank you to Net Galley and the publisher for an audio review copy.
I was skeptical about this one for a couple of reasons. One, the extremely mixed reviews, and two, this is outside my comfort zone as far as genres. I predominantly read fantasy, but felt like reading some dark academia.
I'm glad I read it, I thought it was really good. I never guessed the outcome. Maybe I missed some signs, or maybe my mind doesn't go to those places. Who knows. That ending was disturbing! My rating is higher because of it. I will definitely check out more from this author.

Persephone has had a rough life. She went from orphanage to orphanage, never finding a true home. It almost happened once, but bad things happen around Persephone. Especially if she looks into your eyes.
I thought this was pretty good. I loved the witchy vibes. Great for spooky season. I liked the characters and the magic. I think my favorite parts were when they talked about the history of their families and the witches that lived before them.
Thank you to Net Galley and the publisher for a review copy.
I was planning on reading the physical copy of this, but then I saw that Moira Quirk is the narrator so I had to listen to it. Definitely the right choice. I loved this book! I was a little hesitant after reading all the mixed reviews, but I thought it was great. Gideon and Harrow are actually quite funny when they're insulting each other and there's a lot of snark. Moira did a fantastic job with the narration of course. The ending makes me want to buy the next one right away. Loved it!
This is the heartwarming tale of Wallace Price.
Wallace is a jerk. Everyone hates him. Now he's dead and no one mourns him. He finds it quite rude.
Then a reaper comes to collect him so he can cross over. So why is he being taken to a tea shop in the middle of nowhere?
This is such a beautiful story! The characters are fantastic. I said it's heartwarming, but it is also heartbreaking and full of hope.
I need to read everything by this author.
Thank you to Net Galley for a copy of this.
This is a lyrical and heart-warming tale.
Gauge lives in a superstitious town by the sea. The people there believe that if you can see the wolf then you are cursed and must be “set out to sea”.
Gauge has seen the wolf. Now, he must find a way to make the town understand that they are wrong about their superstitions before it's too late.
I received a copy from Net Galley.
Thank you to net galley and the publisher for the review copy.
I have to say, I requested this one just because of the hype it's been getting. I had no idea what it was about, other than it had vampires. I am so glad I read this!
This is definitely one of my favorite books of the year. So gritty, attention grabbing, with some humor sprinkled in. Gabriel has cemented himself as one of my all time favorite characters.
I also purchased the audio, and Damian Lynch is fantastic!
This was definitely different from my usual reads, but I loved it!
Katrell should be enjoying her high school years, but instead she has to work 30 hours a week to support her mom and loser boyfriend. She can also talk to the dead. She makes extra money letting people talk to their loved ones that have passed. However, the last time she talked to a ghost, she was warned to stop or things were going to get really bad for her. But how can she stop when she has rent due?
This was such a great story. Katrell has a horrible life and tries everything she can to make it better. I loved her character. It's also perfect for the spooky season!
My thanks to net galley for the copy.
The Naor have surrendered, but that does not mean the Altenerai can rest.
The Queen has stolen all the hearthstones and left with the intention to wake the Goddess. They must find her before that happens. If the Goddess wakes, all life will perish.
I loved this, but was sad for the series to end. I love these characters so much! The whole book was great, but I especially loved the ending.
I have to thank Net Galley. I had never heard of this fabulous author until I saw his books on there. Now I own them all. If you like fantasy, you should definitely check him out.
