I have been meaning to check this author out for a while. I have obviously been missing out! I loved this book!
This book is bloody, action-packed, and humorous. It has it all. I usually prefer more world building, but this story was great as is. The characters are horrible and amazing at the same time. I loved/hated them all!
I will be waiting impatiently for the next one. In the meantime, I definitely need to read the other books out by this author.
I received a copy from Net Galley.
This was not what I expected. Not in a bad way though. I knew it was a fantasy about a tower and that was about it. I wasn't expecting Senlin. His character was so refreshing. He's not a well-built bad ass, he's just a regular guy. Quite nerdy in fact. I too am a nerd, so I loved him. I am excited to continue the series.
Ellerie and her family live in a small village. They grow flower fields to keep their bees producing the best honey around. They live pretty quiet lives.
Until the silver-eyed monsters come.
This was a decent read. I definitely got “The Village” vibes. I really liked Ellerie, and I loved the village rules at the beginning of the chapters.

This has been on my shelf for so long, and I am so glad that I finally read it.
I have to say I was unsure about this one at the start. It was a little slow. That all changed for me when I got to Kvothe's back story. It was so drawn in that I didn't even notice the size of this book. I didn't want to put it down. I have now joined the millions that want the next one released asap. Loved it!
I started listening to this one. The audiobook is terrible! It's a full cast, but there was only one narrator that was decent. It was killing the book for me, so I switched to my paperback. Much better. There were a few moments in the first half that were unnecessary and close to vomit inducing. The second half was much better. I actually loved the last part of the book. I would have rated it higher if the whole book was that good. Hopefully the series gets better.
I love that this is Viking inspired. I thought the writing was great. I wanted to love it, but it was just ok. I need to feel something for the characters, whether I love them or hate them, just something. I did not care about any of these characters at all. There was no character development, and I just didn't care. I might still give the next book a chance just because I did like the writing style.

This was a tough one to rate. The synopsis for this made me think it would be a five star read. It started off great, then we got to the teenage angst and I started to lose interest. Since it's a review copy, I continued on. I'm glad I did. I love all the witchcraft, and the characters. And I was quite surprised by the plot twists. I had no idea it would end the way it did. For that reason, I will definitely pick up the next one.

It has been seventeen years since Talia, the Necromancer Queen was killed. There are many that believe she will rise again. Many of those people also believe she had a daughter. The Resistance wants to find her to help the rebellion, others want to kill her in case she is like her mother.
I really enjoyed this one. I thought I had it all figured out, but I was wrong. I loved the writing style, and the characters are fantastic. I have already bought the next one.

I really enjoyed most of this book. I was enjoying the plot, and the characters. However, when it veered off to the gods and goddesses, I didn't enjoy it as much. I thought the narrator did a great job. I was also happy that it wasn't romance heavy.
I received a copy from Net Galley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
