This book is interesting and important. Though I must admit I don't quite understand all the computer science details that are a part of it.
I'm not a very good reader of poetry. Consequently the parts of this book that touched me the most were the stories about the poet's family history. But, I did like the poems, I think my favourite may be the one called For Earth's Grandsons and which begins: “Stand tall, no matter your height, how dark your skin”
Things have changed a lot for Alex since Fated. There are things I miss about the earlier books, but the series is still compelling.
This series is fast-paced and entertaining, and I really like Kate. Generally, I'm entirely fed up with the alpha male love interest, but there is something about Curran that makes him less insufferable than most, to me.
This book is very powerful and a captivating read. It sounds a bit weird to use words like loved or enjoyed for this kind of book.
It's been a very long time since I read The Handmaid's Tale. I think The Handmaid's Tale is a bit better, in my opinion, but this is very good too.
A young Scottish girl travels to London to investigate her father's fate. Fairly good. I was more engaged by the second half.
As usual Kay made me cry. Several times. This is not, I think, my absolute favourite of Kay's novels, but I did love it. The environment, atmosphere and characters were all wonderful.
I think I liked this one a bit more than the first. I'll continue the series some day, it's very interesting.
I wasn't very impressed with this one when I originally read it. A few weeks ago I found a bunch of this series as temporarily included on audible, so I dug it out to give another chance.
There are some interesting threads, but the characters are pretty dull. Cal is the most annoying teenage brat.
DNF because I had to return it to the library. I enjoyed it while reading, but never felt compelled to pick it back up.
Four dystopian novellas. I really like Doctorow's writing and he brings up some very important issues. My favourite out of these four is probably Unauthorized Bread.
I didn't like the last volume as much as the rest of the series, but in this one it' back on track :)
Toll the Hounds was heartbreaking, so I decided to go gor something short and fun.
This hit the spot. It's fluffy and has some charming characters, silliness and romance.
I've never really had much interest in grimdark, and I believe that this counts as such.
But I saw the interview the Brothers Gwynne did with Adrian Selby and it made me very curious about The Winter Road. I really liked it. Teyr is a fantastic character and I found myself getting caught up in the story.
Mi libro es viejo, de los años 50, creo. Además de Veinte poemas de amor y una canción desesperada también contiene Alturas de Machu Picchu.
I've started this a couple of times before, but put it down for various reasons. Being in the mood for some other genre, being in a reading slump... Now that I finished it I have to say I liked it. It wasn't perfect, but entertaining. I think I'll read more in the series.
I liked this. I've been feeling like reading about women on the home front of the world wars.
I listened to this one. The audiobook narrator did a pretty good job, but there was something about her voice, or the recording which meant that I had huge problems hearing what she said if my surroundings weren't entirely quiet.
