I liked these stories, but compared to the fantastic novels in this series I didn’t like this as much as them. Le Guin is an excellent short story writer, but the novels are much more engaging than this collection, to me anyway.
I liked this book, it was sweet and an entertaining read. I liked Jane, though Melody annoyed me.
Oh, this was so good. There are many authors whose work I love, but Kay is special to me, and has been since I first read Fionavar in the early 90s. His stories always fascinate and always make me cry. This was no exception. I loved this story, and the atmosphere and the characters, especially Danica, Leonora and Marin.
Hade en del intressant, men mer matnyttigt för den som inte jobbat med digitala verktyg i skolan tidiagare, skulle jag tro.
I enjoyed this a lot. The structure is fascinating, and the stories too. My favourite story was probably Sonmi-451. The Sloosha's Crossing one was a bit of a challenge to read, linguistically.
För mig som inte är helt ny på IKT i undervisningen gav denna bok mig mer inspiration, tips och idéer än Bruuns förra.
It's taken me so long to read this, although I enjoyed it. But, once I put it down I never felt a drive to pick it up again. Also, it's been a busy year and I've not had much time for reading.
I didn't like the first story in the collection as much as many of the others, which may also have influenced my eagerness to read it. But there are some really good story in here!
I loved this when I was a kid! The Swedish title was Du tror väl inte på spöken if I remember correctly.
My second Sarah Waters novel. This was fascinating, though I did not like it as much as I liked The Night Watch.
DNF. Interesting, but I think it may be a thesis or something. V academic and that makes it too difficult for me at the moment. I'll probably go back to it some other time.
Fairly good, detective stories aren't my favourite genre, but I did like Murdoch. I was recommended the TV-show based on these books, but was unable to find it in Sweden. So, I decided to try the books. Unfortunately my library doesn't have these, so I'll have to buy them if I want to keep reading.
Darn it. I was going to move on to a different series, but with that ending...
Also, besides Levistus also Morden and Drakh are the worst. Not too surprising, what with them being dark mages, but...
Just realized I have more than 40 series I'm not caught up on, so decided to try to catch up on a few...
So, I'm trying to explore some more poetry. I decided to reread this, as Kay is one of my favourite writers.
I'm not really a poetry reader and maybe that's the issue. The very first poem, Night Drive: Elegy, (before part one of the collection) made me cry. The rest - I found some interesting ideas & some beautiful phrases, but the collection doesn't really speak to me.
