Thanks I hate it. I didn't care about anything that was going on. The plot twists were boring. Julian's character was ruined in this book and so was Dante's. Tella infuriates me so much. I had to stop reading multiple times because of her idiotic choices. I don't understand how anyone could like her including Scarlet. I felt like throwing this book off a cliff many many times.

What happened here? That's my question for Stephanie Garber. What happened? The first book was so good and this one was just not. It lost all of it's magic for me. I hate Tella with every fiber of my being. I don't like the turn that the plot took in this book. I became darker and more about the “Fates.” It was so boring to me. The best part of this book was Dante.

This book was really hard to rate because it was entertaining but the plot wasn't really that good. I really want to know when she came up with all of this stuff because a lot of it feels like she just made it up. Bringing Anderson back to life really felt like a cop-out because she had to bring back the villan. Also all the memory loss stuff also felt like a cop-out and got really annoying really fast. So that was annoying but the book was pretty fast-paced. The book was wild plot-twist-wise. Keeping us in the dark about what was going on with Warner was very rude but it's ok because it was worth it. But I almost cried at the reunion at the end and also when they gave Warner a birthday party. ALSO KENJI POV!
It took the first 80 pages or so to get into the book but after that, it was super fast-paced. THE DRAMA THE PLOT TWISTS. My jaw dropped so many times. The ending was wild and had me almost falling off my bed trying to get to the next book. Top-tier book. Definitely one of my new favorites of the series.

For someone who is new to dark academia/ murder mystery, this book shocked me. A lot of the characters were flat and one-dimensional to me. Especially Meredith. Her only personality traits according to the author are hot, sexy, and curvy. I'm shocked this author isn't a man based on how Meredith is written. The pretentious quoting of Shakespeare every other sentence got really annoying really fast. Also, why did we need to quote entire scenes of the plays? I skimmed over most of those parts. Maybe Shakespeare nerds would like it but I found it obnoxious.

I loved Love and Gelato but this book is unnecessary and not nearly as good. Why did we get the reveal about what happened with Cubby so late in the book? It felt like the author knew that that was the only interesting part of the book.
DNF at about page 100. The writing was fine but I guess Greek mythology just isn't my thing.

This book was immensely disappointing. I was so incredibly slow for almost the entire book until the end when everything just happened at once. I hated Cardan for the entire book. I don't understand the hype.

I'm trying to read more queer romances so I picked this one up. It wasn't awful but it wasn't as good as I'd hoped. I didn't really like the writing style. I can't really pinpoint why. He said “freaking” way too many times. Literally every other sentence and it was so annoying to read over and over again. Anyway on to the plot. I liked the emails between Simon and Blue and the mystery of trying to figure out who Blue is. However, the reveal of Blue's true identity was somewhat anti-climactic for me. I think that it was because we barely knew who this dude was. Also, nothing in the book made me feel anything which is one of the main reasons why it got a low rating from me. The coming-out scenes and the parts about Simon getting outed just didn't get any emotions out of me. Also, I was not invested in any of his friendships or any of the arguments between them. We also didn't get very much of the romance because Simon didn't even know who Blue was until the book was almost over.

It's just the first book but from a worse more boring perspective. I see absolutely no point to this book existing.
I don't understand the hype. It was weird. As other haters of this book have said, the book doesn't seem to know what it wants to be. Sometimes it sounds like a comfy old classic but then there's randomly a bunch of melodramatic elements like the car crash and cancer and stuff and the characters will randomly swear a bunch and then not again for another 100 pages. It didn't make sense. Also, it was very sentimental but in a bad way (at least for me) it felt very cliched especially at the end. Maya kind of pissed me off but I can't really say why she's just really snobby (like her stepdad). I was skimming his stupid “deep” prose about life and love and stuff. Also the time jumps were muy confusing and the romance skipped too many steps. They met then suddenly its been 4 years and they're both single now, they kiss then we skip like 3 or 4 years and he proposes then we skip again to the wedding. There's no time for development because they keep skipping. Just wasn't the right book for me.

The ending in this one made sense and she tied up all the loose ends making for a satisfying ending. I know people have mixed feelings about Bel. I didn't feel too strongly about her. I thought she was funny sometimes but I can agree that the book way overused the f-bomb. It was everywhere. I usually don't care that much about language in books but it was used for no reason at all 3 times in one sentence. Calm down. Learn some vocabulary. I loved Carter. I got full-body chills when it was revealed that she and Bel are sisters. I know some people predicted that but I'm slow ok? Rachael acted super suspicious which doesn't totally make sense after learning what really happened. She was super strong for going through what she did in that track (she literally birthed a baby alone in there and then had her taken) but it was hard to get past the way she was acting for most of the book. Like why was she so protective over her phone and popping up places in the most suspicious manner? I get that it's to make her a suspect but it didn't make sense that she was acting like a cat burglar because she didn't want to hurt Bel's feelings. There was also the romance between Bel and Ash. I didn't really care for Ash for most of the book. Then when I finally started caring a little about their romance, it's over and he's leaving. I didn't think that Bel needed a boyfriend. Especially when we had so much other stuff going on. Charlie and his gaslighting were well-written in my opinion. I didn't pick up on it but it made sense when revealed. It was a little hard to believe that he went from a normal-ish human to this murderous controlling psychopath at the end. But I get that he had to be normal so that he wasn't suspicious. So yeah I really liked this one (I don't read that much mystery because I'm a scaredy-cat)

This book was a filler book for me so I didn't expect it to be that good but it was horrid. The timeline was confusing, there were way too many typos, the relationships were just not it for me, I wasn't invested at all so the plot twists did nothing for me, and the ending was insipid, uninspiring, rage-inducing, and laughable. I hope the editor got fired after this.

Adam is so whiny and annoying and thinks way too highly of himself. The book pissed me off and it was mostly just the same scenes over again with nothing added but a headache. I know that we're not supposed to like him but still. Why does he think that he's better than everyone? He sounds like he hates Juliette. And he's supposed to be in love with her so like?????

I recently reread this so that I could refresh my memory before reading the sequel and I have some thoughts. I don't like the writing. Some people like that it's super simple but everyone talked so grammatically correct and it kind of took me out of the book. I forgot about pretty much everything that happened in the book so most of the “plot twists” were a surprise all over again which was fun. But it felt like nothing really happened for a while as we were introducing characters and going through the high-school drama that I didn't care about eg. the whole table fight thing and all the other couples. It felt like the author was like “what if I wrote a book where one of them tragically dies at the end. That would be cool. Now what to put before that?” Ya know? I wish we got more of Finn and Autumn together. I see why we didn't but it was still disappointing to read all of this buildup of them liking each other and all the relationship drama for him to just die a day after they got together. Finn's death had me in tears. The first time I remember being kind of disappointed and not at all emotional but it hit different this time. I don't like that she wrote in the whole cheating on Sylvie plot point. I get that its “for the drama” or whatever but it still made me feel weird because I hate cheating trope. The ending with the whole suicide attempt pregnancy thing was a decent ending and I was satisfied. It didn't need a sequel just saying.

An interesting concept but it was done without any logic. It started off interesting but soon got redundant.

Meh. It was my 2nd favorite out of the trilogy after Shadow and Bone obviously. I didn't really ship Alina with any of the love interests for different reasons. The Darkling I shouldn't even have to explain why I don't ship. Mal just wasn't giving for some reason. He only liked her when she didn't have powers. He was only satisfied when she didn't have them. I liked Nikolai but not with Alina. I can't really explain why I don't ship but I just don't ok? Anyway, I didn't really care for the ending. There are also too many characters on the journey thing. Like why are we bringing a whole cat on this hunt? Either I'm dumb or the whole having to kill Mal as the amplifier didn't make sense. Like why doesn't she just touch him when she needs power? Am I stupid? I also didn't care for any of the character deaths. She killed off the characters I cared the least about. Like don't be shy, kill off someone important.

Much worse than the first book and I didn't like that one much either. So far the series has been pretty disappointing for me. I'm kind of annoyed with Mal but I'm way more annoyed with Alina. I hate her so much. How is she falling in love with everyone she sees. She's in love with at least 5 people. Also she's such a lesbian I can't.

I read this later than I should have which probably affected my rating negatively but Aaron felt out of character for most of the book and the whole thing just felt unnecessary. We already know that he's been abused, he loves Juliette, and he tries to hide his emotions all the time. Also Delalieu was genuinely tweaking the entire book.

This is genuinely one of the worst books I've ever read. Should've stayed on Wattpad. There are maybe 1 or 2 sort of likeable characters but I hate everyone else including our 3 main characters: Jackie, Alex, and Cole. Jackie's “I'm not like other girls” personality and her tragic backstory and so incredibly annoying. She spends basically no time grieving her family and instead is trying to deal with these 11 horrible boys, especially Alex and Cole. Cole is your typically bad boy who is obnoxious, hot, aggressive for no apparent reason, and drinks with all his shallow, horrible friends. Alex starts out only fine but then he just gets really obnoxious and fights his stupid brother over Jackie at every chance that he gets. He's supposed to be a “nice guy” but he never does anything of the sort. I only read this because it was compared to The Summer I Turned Pretty with Cole being like Conrad and Alex being like Jeremiah. Neither of them are anything like that. As a member of Team Jeremiah, I much much prefer Conrad over either Cole or Alex. They're both so immature and annoying. Then at the end she leaves to go live with Danny but plans on coming back to date Cole. Like what the heck?!? I don't get why anyone likes this book and the show sounds even worse so...
