I read this later than I should have which probably affected my rating negatively but Aaron felt out of character for most of the book and the whole thing just felt unnecessary. We already know that he's been abused, he loves Juliette, and he tries to hide his emotions all the time. Also Delalieu was genuinely tweaking the entire book.
