This is genuinely one of the worst books I've ever read. Should've stayed on Wattpad. There are maybe 1 or 2 sort of likeable characters but I hate everyone else including our 3 main characters: Jackie, Alex, and Cole. Jackie's “I'm not like other girls” personality and her tragic backstory and so incredibly annoying. She spends basically no time grieving her family and instead is trying to deal with these 11 horrible boys, especially Alex and Cole. Cole is your typically bad boy who is obnoxious, hot, aggressive for no apparent reason, and drinks with all his shallow, horrible friends. Alex starts out only fine but then he just gets really obnoxious and fights his stupid brother over Jackie at every chance that he gets. He's supposed to be a “nice guy” but he never does anything of the sort. I only read this because it was compared to The Summer I Turned Pretty with Cole being like Conrad and Alex being like Jeremiah. Neither of them are anything like that. As a member of Team Jeremiah, I much much prefer Conrad over either Cole or Alex. They're both so immature and annoying. Then at the end she leaves to go live with Danny but plans on coming back to date Cole. Like what the heck?!? I don't get why anyone likes this book and the show sounds even worse so...
