Idk if it's the long wait between books or what, but I kinda don't care about the FCF anymore. Not the characters, not the plots. It started out fun & just fizzled out.
Had its good points, bad points, mostly just meh. I've seen over reviews stating there are better books covering Anakin & Obi-wan's relationship & I find myself agreeing. Though it IS nice to know what happened to Obi-wan on Cato Nemoidia.
Very long read, but well worth it. I glossed over the mythological references (only the first 7% of the entire book anyway). Everything else was very cool to learn the details of.
Overall a good book. The imperial era is where it shines. The clone wars era, especially Padme's parts feel shoehorned into fitting this into the new canon. My only other dislike was they only use Vader's breathing once or twice. I get that it keeps the audiobook clean, but would've added immersion.
Would've liked to give 3.5 stars. Good, but not great. The ending was really good though!
Nearly as good as the original. Far better than the previous books. Nice send off for most of the characters, but still left some questions.
Great start, excellent build up. Drops the ball on what's supposed to be the crescendo: Atlantis itself just to setup the plot twist. The twist itself is fun, but I still felt robbed somewhat.
If Long War was a misnomer, Long Mars was just bait. it's still a decent book, just should've stuck to the original title & downplayed Mars. The Next was by far the more interesting storyline.
For the most part, it really takes you back to the older books detailing the Rebellion. However, there are parts that drag on.
Thank God that's over! As always terrible character development & interactions. Only read the damn thing since the first book had a good mysterious premise & there's not 1 good synopsis online.
Pretty great! Not perfect, but this is my fav time period & fav characters. I'm pleased it fits in well with all previous material for Obi-wan!
Quite descriptive & interesting in most places, but the story & character development moves too fast. Enjoyable read, but there really are no surprises.
