loved the information, the stories, and the absolute conviction i got from reading this book . i have been looking for something to begin my journey to a healthier life, and this book was it . the resources inundated inside are also top notch (the EWG app is my new app to doom scroll on lol). borrowed this from my local library, but i will be purchasing my own copy to reference in the future as i go on with life :) definitely a worthwhile read !!
I first read this book when I was about... 8 years old? It took over my life then, and reading it now just reminds me of my first and original love for reading that this book gave me. One of my top 10 novels ever for sure and I will never forget how it makes me feel. Love every page of it!
had to log onto goodreads from my laptop so i could do an adequate review for this book.
fourth wing didn't really get a hold on me until the end when everything began to unravel. iron flame had me from the BEGINNING. this damn book. rebecca yarros has an amazing ability in writing that made me literally cry, want to throw shit because of how angry i am, feel the pain that violet felt, and had me to relate to all of the characters. i wish i would've read this series earlier- but then again i'm glad i waited until now so that i didn't have to wait for iron flame to release- but then again i wish i would've waited to read this series so that i wouldn't be in the predicament i am in right now (impatiently waiting for onyx storm to release). basically this book made me feel every emotion that occurred in it and i am so glad i took the time to read it. both badass and sexy- probably one of the best novels i've read that has my perfect balance of romance and action. absolutely a five star book and i commend rebecca yarros for her wonderful creation that is the empyrean series <3
specifically a 4.7 star rating only because it's a romance novel and i reserve 5 star ratings for my sci-fi books
but that doesn't mean this book wasn't amazing! i definitely loved it, and out of the other two ali hazelwood novels i have read (the love hypothesis and love on the brain) this has been my favourite from her. it could also be that i took a big break since the last time i've read one of her books (over a year ago) but this book felt very fresh and fun compared to her others. while these three books that i've read from her have all centered around women in stem and finding a handsome, sexy, and out-of-this-world perfect man in stem, this one felt better. i don't know how to explain it! i think elsie's character was a lot more relatable and had a lot more character development than the other two novels (but nonetheless, those books are still great). i'm really glad i read this book and it included a great story, characters, spice, and internal character development. this is 100% worth reading!!
Wow, what an amazing read! Read this for a bookclub and was pleasantly surprised. Western/horror is not my usual genre to read, but this book really kept me hooked. Great characters, a unique plot, action, emotion, and a wonderful story! Really enjoyed this one.
currently bawling my eyes out as i write this review. what an ending to a beautiful series that i will not forget. so sad it's over, it was worth it. all the books are worth it
A good kind of romantic slow burn that has the perfect amount of action, humour, and violence to add to the intensity of the story. Loved this book and cannot wait to start the next one!
what a story :) perfect read while i was lounging at the beach, and definitely made me cry with that ending . i look forward to reading the next book, but i loved the writing style and way it was written :)
i usually love penelope douglas, but this one just didn't hit . it was a lil tooo much for me- that's just my personal opinion . story was a little far fetched and silly at times, but i really liked it in the beginning . wasn't a bad read- but probably one of my least favorites from douglas . :(
i looooveeeee this book so much . this series currently holds such a big part of my heart and it is so hard for me to put down ! so excited to start the next one :)
oh my god this BOOK . absolutely gripped me ! after reading acotar and seeing how everyone thought this book was better i could not understand how acomaf could be better . but oh man was i surprised ! the big twist that it gave - this book held me night and day and i could not keep my mind off of it . seriously excited for the rest of the series because this book was AWESOME
i ended up finishing this book faster than i thought i would, and i'm glad i read it :) this was definitely a heart wrencher, and very unexpected from how i expected it to go . but i liked where it went ! a good read <3
i did really like this book, it just kind of escaped me in the middle. i went through a long part of time where i couldn't find anything interesting to look forward to until it got closer to the end- which really excited me. honestly i really was hoping that bree and sel would get together - and i unfortunately let that blindside me from the great works of this book. this was an amazing story that i loved, it was just kind of slow for me. but wonderfully written and amazing for being a ya novel. good read :)
what a terrifyingly real and provoking story. this was a hard read, only because of how real it felt and how i couldn't help but remember that anything like this could happen in the future. definitely will be a book i don't forget and i am glad i powered through reading it.
Definitely my favorite out of the whole series. This has been a journey and I'm afraid for it to end!
ernest cline is probably the best sci fi author i've ever read books from , and this book was pretty awesome. the only thing i didn't love was the ending - it felt sorta rushed and hurt my heart a little when i realized that xavier actually died and wasn't coming back :( but all in all it was a great book and a worthwhile read :)
woah.... i thought i knew what was going on, until i realized i do not in fact know what is going on
what a fantastic story. i have owned this book since i was about 14, but im glad i waited until now to read it . i feel like i wouldnt have understood it as well when i was younger . but wow, so many references and what a great story . i would give this 5 stars , but i feel like it was dragged out more than necessary . certain parts was given so much detail that i found it a struggle to power through and read- but im still glad i read it . it really will never leave my mind and i think it is a wonderfully written piece of literature
wow !! ali hazelwood really shocked me with this one . very much appreciated the change of scenery from the science-y ones, and this one had the perfect balance :) actually was a great story that kept me engaged and i enjoyed reading it a lot !!
one of the most underrated science fiction novels i have read in a long time. while the writing style was very unique, it added to the book and to the feeling that the book gave of suspense and tension. i'm so glad i decided to give this book a chance, rather than listen to the countless hateful reviews on this novel. i was initially interested in reading the book because i watched the movie adaptation about 4 years ago and was blown away by it. while the book is nothing like the movie- i still loved it because it gave greater insight into many of the questions i wondered when i watched the film. i'm so glad this book exists- and i plan on reading the rest of the trilogy when i get the chance. amazing book!
the only reason this book took me so long is because i was in a bit of a reading slump- but this was the most beautiful book ive ever read (both beautifully written and beautifully illustrated). the pictures and way it was written completely immersed me in the story and brought my two favorite things (pride and prejudice AND science fiction) together . amazing story and i loved every page of it .
Big fan of getting to see Adena's side to the story. Short and sweet, yet gave us a glimpse into some extra characters that didn't get much time in the previous book.
loving this so far ! my favorite thing is seeing the character development of juliette like you go girl get em !! excited to continue reading this series :)
