3.5 stars rounded up because it is good, I enjoyed it, but there were aspects that just really felt unnecessary or like strings left unwoven.
More funny than sad with some dark humor, but really just a book about a girl trying to protect her siblings but getting in over her head from the lies.
100% wouldn't call this a mystery. Mostly just a contemporary.
These books are absolutely gripping. It is a fabulous ending to a roller coaster of a novel. The back and forth on the timeline isn't always my favorite type of reading, so I wasn't sure if I'd be into this, but it is easy to read as an ebook. I loved being able to flip through and check out all of Iris' Mortal Enemies list– see how it grew and changed over time.
Adored this and after finishing, I really want to re-read the first book. Nora is my favorite con-woman.
Okay, I wasn't sure about this book at first. I just wasn't here for the perfect omega, but decided to give it a try until she at least met her pack. I'm so glad I did like wow. The abuse and trauma she goes through and how her pack help her and get her help to heal and learn to be an actual person is so enthralling. I teared up quite a few times, I laughed, I smiled, I swooned.
Again, I'm really glad I gave this book a chance. I hope Plain Jane gets a book too so we can see her get a HEA after what we just know has to be a horrible situation for her.
This book had absolutely no right being as good as it is. The Beauty and Beast easter eggs were lovely and I adored how the misunderstandings weren't stupid but because of the lenses in which they both view the world. I still wish they would learn to communicate because we see no reason to believe problems from them no talking won't arise in the future, but ehhhh I'm not complaining too much.
Raff is crazy in his instant devotion and how he just changes his life to fit her. So unhinged and I love it. Also love how Vasilisa realizes some of the things he does and makes jokes about them but still just falls harder in love with him.
And I do love these books, but I wonder if they are all going to be huge age gaps??? lol I'm hoping we get books for Alexei (Vasilisa's brother/ Bratva heir) and Sasha (Sergei's son), but since they are only young 20s right now it feels like we won't get them :(
I am still helllllla excited for the sister's book (I'm sorry I forgot her name T_T) but her wanting to get away from the life, but knowing she is about to share an apartment with a bodyguard??? Oh... oh I'm so intrigued.
Books set primarily in the past then flip to the present don't usually work for me which is why I've been pushing this book off, but I'm glad I finally started. This was super cute and I love them as a couple even they spent more time apart than together. I wish there was more conflict between them or learning to be together after a 5 year separation, but I think that is my only complaint.
I'm looking forward to Massimo and Zara's story!
3.5 stars
Cozy, sweet, with quite a few humorous moments. I listened to half of the audiobook and the narrator does a wonderful job.
I'm rounding up to 4 stars because I think the humor and quieter writing style just aren't quite my thing, but I do think it was well written, witty, and just honestly fun.
This was kind of boring. It takes place over maybe a week with them deliriously in love and everything is perfect. It felt really quick for such a long book and at times utterly ridiculous. Perhaps some of it is cultural differences which made me think someone was being rude or out of line but everyone else acted like it was normal.
I almost dnf'd a few times, but the single parent/nanny trope is one I really like and I just had to see how the pack would come together.
If you're looking for light, sweet, and warm vibes with little to no conflict and no third act breakup then this is the book you're looking for.
