I'm not into super dark and fucked up Mafia books, but I really can get into ones like this!
I'm a sucker for obsessed, possessive, but ultimately sweet (usually only to the FMC) MMCs. This book definitely delivered on that front.
Our FMC -Vasilisa- is a hacker and she decides to hack into a private security firm that ends ups being the legitimate side of the business for a “ruthless” Sicilian mob boss. Rafael Di Santi. She take $20 from them and donates it to charity. Mostly just to prove to her father that she can be an asset to the family business.
Rafael has her kidnapped and is going to murder her until he sees her. He is immediately attracted to her and can't kill her. He decides to make a different deal with her.
Fix what she broke and she can go free. Except he constantly throws up road blocks in order to force Vasilisa to stay longer in the hopes that she'll fall in love with him too.
It was really good. Also my first Neva Altaj book, I think.

Between this and His Tesoro, I'm really liking Mafia Romance more than I ever thought I would. Dang it. I thought I was an MC Romance girly through and through but lately, Mafia is convincing me that it can do an an overbearing male that's sweet only for his girl better.
